isn't it great when things go well?....

i'm really happy with the way my training is going.

last night's practice with the bench shirt went well. did a 225 triple, and actually made the weight touch. then i worked up to a 315 triple on 5 board press.

today i pulled 205 deadlift for 5 reps. that was a new PR.

feeling good.....feeling strong......can't wait for monday, to hit it again.

thanks for the feedback.

i did rack lockout bench last night...hit 335 for 10 sets of singles....the weight didn't feel all that heavy. i'm going up on those next week, for sure.

the lingo isn't too hard to follow...it's just a little unfamiliar to most.

thanks for the compliment. i'm looking forward to see what kind of numbers i put up at a meet.

i'm certain yet, but i'm shooting for omaha on november 15.

i'm still trying to learn my shirt. i'm having a really hard time being patient with it. i can't decide if i'm going with the "break it in with medium/heavy weight and learn the groove" theory, or the " pile on enough weight til the bar touches" theory. the pile it on version wasn't working too well...so now i'm trying to break it in and learn the groove.

training is still going well. friday's ME chest workout took us two tries to complete. VDOP and i ended up in a fight during our first trip to the gym, had to go home, regroup and go back an hour later. i swear, one of these days, he and i are going to stand in the middle of the gym and box! on the second try, i hit 245 for triples, 335 for triples on 6 boards, and 275 for triples on 4 boards.

today.....we lowered the rack high on lockouts, and i hit 275 for 10 sets of singles. then worked up to 135 standing military press of a double, and what felt like a bazillion sets of shrugs. started shrugs with the trap bar for 50 reps, then 135 for 35 twice, 225 for 15, 135 again for 25....then i called it quits. i thought i was gonna vomit.

damn....this is turning into a training journal.

sorry for the long post...i got carried away. now i don't have the heart to delete it.

Congrats on your PR! One question...when you say you pulled for 5 reps...does this mean you put the bar back on the ground between each rep, or do you just lower it as close to the ground as possible?
