Is swimming better than normal cardio?

Swimming is great cardio for fit people who want to stay fit. But for overweight people, it's not the best fat loss tool.

One, because swimming among the most physically demanding cardio workouts, most overweight people will not be able to do it long enough to get the results they want. And two, the water keeps the body temperature lower which means you will not burn calories as efficiently as if you were running or biking.

I've never seen a fat swimmer, bro.........

Likewise :) ~10% isn't at all fat afterall... And it doesn't change what I said....

5% fat sprinter > 10% fat swimmer
Maurice Green > Ian Thorpe

Sprinters are freaky. Swimmers look more like Joe Average.

I swim from tiem to time, I just hate what it does to my hair. There are several members on here who use swimming as cardio to keep the abs tight and what not. I remember reading that AAP swims.
