It is the gay children of men like you, who are too selfish with their love to overcome their inane prejudice, that end up on the streets, on drugs, or killing themselves. Any parent who would address a child in that way, on account of whom he loves, doesn't deserve to call himself a father, in my opinion.

I thank God my father was able to love me as I was without telling me he'd rather be stabbed in the back than see me spend my life loving whom I want.

Just try to imagine what a young gay man would feel like with a father with your abusive attitude. Imagine if your own father told you he'd rather you kill him than love whom you choose.

I did not say I would not love my child if he were a homosexual. I said it would break my heart to find that out and that it would be a great disappointment for me. Would you be disappointed in your child if he went on a mass killing spree? Unconditional love means you'd still love him, but of course you would also be disappointed.

On what do you base your assumption that my attitude would be abusive? I said I'd be disappointed, heart-broken, and that I'd rather he'd kill me. I didn't say I'd tell him that I hate him or anything like that.

You know how I'd react if my father told me that he disapproved of whom I loved? I could say with certainty that I wouldn't care. Why is it that homosexuals, who are supposedly "just as much men as straight men are," have a problem dealing with daddy not wanting them to "love" other men while straight men don't seem to care if dad doesn't approve of their girlfriends?

I'm not getting in an argument with you. I think my conclusions were quite legitimate. You didn't term a son's disclosure a mere disappointment. You said it was a disgrace whose disclosure is worse than stabbing a father in the back. Now you compare it to a killing spree.
