I miss a lot of 90's music

The seatle sound movement in the early 90's really gave rock music a kick in the ass.. I still love that sound.. Emphasis on the music, and not the vocals.. and those were some pretty damn good muscians.. Im sure back in the day many of these guys would be labled 'virtuoso'.. The melodies and grooves had a lot of power, which made up for the lack of meaning in the mostly shallow lyrics, i.e. bad love, being high, chicks...

Ummmmmmm..........back in the day they were NOT labelled virtuosos. Seattle crap made AC/DC look complicated. Shitty sound, on cheap instruments, played by people who thought that practicing to become a better musician was a waste of time.

Pure crap.

Pearl Jam is still awesome, they are still my favorite band. People think they arent as good now because they dont put out hits that are like jeremy, evenflow, and alive. granted i like these songs, but they have shit that is so much better than that..

Just my opinion
peace

No, i agree that Pearl Jam is still putting some good stuff and probably the best lyrics around. But, they aren't as exciting as they used to be I don't feel. They don't seem to fit in like they used to, if you follow.

Im sure you'd say the same thing about Jimi Hendrix.. that was just all noise and distortion right??

you have no fucking clue

i agree with the fact about them not fitting, but i think that this is what eddie vedder wants. he doesn't care if he "fits in" he wants to get his messages across to his fans and i think he does that very well. PJ has a very good fan base/following.

in response to your exciting comment, i mostly agree, but i like his mellow music a lot more. but in concert he is very exciting, i have seen him numerous times. and i love when he plays neil young, like fuckin up and keep on rockin in the free world. awesome covers..

peace bro

Hendrix revolutionized rock.

Seattle de-evolutionized it.

Get a clue.

Just because something is popular does not make it good.

Ah yes, the 90s. The decade that guitar solos died and replaced with depressed music that depressed an entire nation. And we never got out of that depression.

Fuck that. I like music now. Harder, and pissed off. And solos are starting to inch in again. Finally.

Agreed. :D
