how many work hours do you average a week?

honestly, the last three months have chapped my ass. I've been running 70 to 80 a week. It should adjust to the usual 50 hrs in about 3 weeks or so, but damn this is taking toll on me. I may just be weak, some people are cut out for this stuff, but not me.

In the course of this project that has consumed me for so long I've developed some type of anxiety disorder that I now am on medication for and two days ago my GF of 3 yrs and 8 months decided it was a good time to end things. Maybe it was my own fault for working so GD much and maybe this is nothing more than a rant, but honestly, does anyone out here work serious hours under strict deadlines and what helps you deal with it?

The most I've ever worked/week is about 60 hours.....damn you work a lot. Your anxiety disorder and lost girlfriend are mere collateral damages to the system though. Bottom line is making money right? lol it all depends on what you value most.

yes, this quarter has been good to me financially. And in my line of work I'm basically have to roll when the work is there, so if the work load is heft, I buckle down and bust ass. If the work load is light, I make shit and have all the time of I want.

I knew it was gonna be like this when I accepted the project, but I didn't expect the collatoral damage....ie. anxienty disorder and the breakup. WTF?

Your situation sounds EXACTLY like my boyfriends right now. He has a million projects going on right now... All of the projects are in different States, just non-stop work... workers not coming through, clients getting pissed out. I don't even like talking to him anymore lol. He's so stressed with work, he's being an ass to me! :)

try to have patience with him. from experience, you obligate yourself to such a degree that there is very little left for other aspects of your life, and I tend to do this without knowing it. In the course of breaking up, my GF broke down and asked me 'do you really need to be in a relationship right now'? unfortunately, there was only one answer to that. so for his sake, try to bear with it, especially if its short term.

I worked nearly 4,000 hours last year so whatever that averages out to be.

Most I've worked in one week is 130 hrs.

Longest continuous shift 96hrs.

thanks. if feel like a real bitch for even begining to gripe about my work hours, let alone the stress problem it's caused. Despite the obvious, how've you been?

In my job if I'm working 40 hours I'm OVER working and about to end up with tendonitis in short order (I'm a medical transcriptionist). I average, maybe, 4 to 6 hours a day, five days a week.

I'll never be rich or financially successful ... but my stress levels have really gone down since I left the "real world work force."
