Well I had legit friends in CR including 2 close friends I've known for 17 and for 13 years, they are always there for me to chat/skype since I moved. But havent really made many here in the US, there are a couple but they are friends with both myself and my husband.

when you get older, you hang out with people you meet around your kids activities. Since you are without kids, most of your age group is occupied with those activities.
