K KillerLoop New member Sep 18, 2001 #5 Aspartame itself doesnt have carbs in it. But when used as a table sweetner like candarel it uses a maltodextrin base which is carbs. Stay away from the sweetner Sorbitol. It is converted to fructose in the liver and will kick you out of ketosis.

Stevia is ok, but Sweet n low and equal I highly disadvice against bacause of the chance of a Ketonic state shift to negative. Mr.X

C cytrix New member Sep 18, 2001 #7 mr.x, does saccharin, which is in sweet&low, increase insulin levels too, like aspartame???
