You would not have had enough timein grade required to advance to E-4 then E5 back then to have been a Sgt. I served 88 - 96

As a matter of fact I felt slighted to make E-5 in 16 months when E-1's were making that in 24 months! I was part of a recruitment effort designed to fill Armor units with very intelligent recruits because the old-timers were not able to make the transition from M-60's to M-1's. I got a 25k bonus at the time too, and a 60k bonus when I went back in for 11 months during DS. I had an MSW by that time and went back in as an E-6, discharged as an E-7. I was 28 years old.
Believe it or not.....I don't make shit up on the internet....especially pertaining to my military service!

I still call BS E7 in three years! No way! Scan and post your DD214 and I will believe you. Wartime I would have believed you E5 may almost been believable dependant upon many circumstances but I have a very hard time to think anyone could mak SFC in 3 years. Just cant buy it sorry!

Thats like an ROTC kid coming in and leaving as a full Bird Colonel in three years. Just does not happen. You have time in service and time in grade requirements. Time in grade between E6 & E7 alone when I was in was at least two years!

You get what I am saying It may be the same in the army I just remember it was at least two. I dont care how smart a person is Colin powell did not even move that fast and he served a few tours in Vietnam! That man I might add should be president of the U.S.!

You know very well I'm not going to scan my DD214 and post it. I have 2 BTW. What part of either would tell you the dates I made rank? So what you really want is for me to post my promotion orders. I'm not going to do that either and you know it.
I joined as an E-3 in 1982 and my contract stated I made E-4 when I completed basic/OSUT. 12 months later I made E-5. Stayed an E-5 for 24 months but was on E-6 list when I ETS'ed in '85.
Finished my BSW in 87 and my MSW in 89 while in the NG. By this time I am an E-6 with 14 months TIG. (Not in my primary MOS)
October of 90 I go back in in my primary (19k) for DS, still an E-6. Promoted to E-7 May of 91. Discharged 02 Sept 91. I don't really care if you believe it or not. That is my service history.
