Bicep re-attachment surgery?

Just wondering if anyone here has had bicep surgery.I completely severed my distal bicep tendon in a cigarette boating accident.It has been repaired,but would like to here from anyone who needs information,or has had the procedure so we can compare recovery tips etc.
