Ashcroft turns 2ND AMENDMENT on its head, argues for personal right to bear arms

huntmaster said:

every month the NRA magazines feature a section called, "The Armed Citizen" which has a dozen or so stories of self defense by armed citizens.

I think you can read it online www.nra.org

WOW, over 100 stories annually of people who used a gun to protect themselves! Maybe the NRA should also include over 100 stories annually on the number of victims who lost their lives to guns. Then, the NRA might become somewhat of an objective source. Until then, I'm surprised you even cited this source to support your argument.

Well I found some stats on Canada. Handguns are banned here, but we still had 1397 gun deaths last year for a population 30 millions. Yeah you guys had 30 000 but still your country has around 200 millions people....

Do the math.

ryan,

how many people die each year from car accidents? wrong prescription drugs? obesity?

...and you act like guns are the scourge of the nation...

LOL....MB.....Charlton Heston--"the great American hero."

What a man! Maybe they'll bury Mr. Heston with his gun.

Groan. Once again: Cars and drugs are not designed for the purpose of killing. You're comparing an accident to murder.

I noticed you made that point earlier and a very good one at that.

you also need to think about other factors: for example most violent crimes usually occur in large cities. Here we have like Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver then the rest are medium to small cities. Considering the way my country is 1397 is a lot.

states that have adopted concealed weapons permits have noticed a HUGE decrease in crime. come to nc, you will think long and hard about robbing someone, cause you dont know who is packing.

once again, you people are acting like the firearm related murders are all children finding daddy's gun or some guy shooting his wife. the majority of these murders are the fucking thugs and criminals in the inner cities, not your law abiding citizens.

plus, i think we should give more of these inner city ghetto trash even more guns, so they can solve the crime problem for us by blowing holes in each other.

NOW I have a weird question: why can someone buy a Gun in New-York but not wear a bullet proof jacket ? Cause I've heard Bullet proofs are forbidden there.........
