Same reason that:
Audi parts are more expensive than VW parts
Acura parts are more expensive than Honda parts
Lexus parts are more expensive than Toyota parts
Although all those vehicles roll of the same assembly lines the name badging dictates more expensive parts and service. If my roomates headlights go out on the esco it's a $500 fix according to the dealership. Just things to think over especially with a used vehicle is what do repairs cost and how much are parts for a DIYer.

Knot sure about GM/Caddy's but some "luxury" brands, e.g. Lexus, shared a drivetrain with Toyota, butt the peripheral components, e.g. starters, radiators, batteries, etc ... had stronger specs
