Serious thread bitches, I am at my wits end

the ex husband has had spinal surgery three times...all three times the minimally invasive discectomy variety...know what?

hes pretty much exactly where he started and I know pry about 12 other people same thing...surgery really did nothing for them

the ex went to one of the best neurosurgeons in the nation too
the artififcial disc thing you mentioned is still not conventional surgery and insurance won't like cover it unless you have coverage for experimental treatment

Stories like these are pretty common.

A good friend of mine will tell his patients: "After back surgery, your pain will be different. It might be better, it might be worse. But it will be different."

Yea bro it's L4 and L5, they wanted to do surgery when they read the MRI. The pain is pretty constant these days. I have had 3 diffrent sets of injections into or around the disc and they worked okay, enough to get me to this point. I do have the MRI CD @ home, I can send it to you next week. I am starting to go numb in my legs, and the pain has spread from my left hip and knee into my ankle with the pain radiating down the front of my shin.

injections is what i was going to suggest, that's what fixed me.. but looks like you have some disc issues, and or other bone issues..

Damn. Whole lot of broken down mofos up in this thread.

On a side note.... the ART guy got my shoulder fixed back to perfection. Sorry to gloat.

no he isn't...he's rubbing it in on purpose.

I told his ass to start with not to go to down to that massage parlor and let that woman walk on his back. Shit. When the massage parlor next door to a chinese buffet, you know those bitches ain't gonna weigh under 250.

in his defense it was probably dark out and with only having one good eye it's hard for him to tell exactly where he's going.

I was told I needed a back surgery, but thank God it's not a debilitating problem, and I have been able to baby it and not make it worse. So no experience here to share, but as with any serious operation, get PLENTY of opinions from good specialists in your exact type of back problem. Even if you have to pay (or go in debt even) out of pocket for an independent evaluation, it's well spent. I do know a doctor in Los Angeles who works with some pro athletes, and he has saved them from surgery. I just had him split two of my wrist tendons apart again yesterday, as they had started to fuse together again. I forget if we're not supposed to put direct links to sites, so you can google Healing Arts Research (Dr. Kochan). His page describes all the ways he can help avoid surgery. If anyone can prevent it, he can. And I'm sure there are other doctors who do similar work in other parts of the country, if SoCal isn't good.

You're stronger than me bro. I'd be a stone cold oxy junkie.

Not everyone likes feeling like a zombie pick.
Even when I have taken any kind of drug it was just for a short amount of time. Being sober and having a clear mind is the best.
(except when I party or in extreme cases if I am upset about a break up or something) Even then I shouldn't resort to alcohol or whatever else.

I like a good buzzed feeling, but I like it going away quickly. My perfect drug would be nitrous oxide. Alcohol fades fairly quickly with me as well.

What I really hate is anything that lingers in your system. Pot and painkillers linger in my system for days. It's like a perpetual fog. I could never be a painkiller addict, unless they made one you could cut on and off in 10 minutes.
