Thats not exactly what I said. I just said I think its hypocritical for anyone that lives in the US to claim that someone else is an immigrant and that they are not. 500 years ago we committed the worst act of genocide in the history of the world, we killed millions and took the land for our own. You are just as much an immigrant as the guy from guatemala sitting on the bus next to you.

Uhhhh, you either talk to some strange people or you just have a very depressing life. Technically, if you want to be specific, EVERYONE is an immigrant from somewhere, no matter where it is.
I have a problem with Immigrants that don't want to pay taxes or contribute to the welfare of the country that they snuck in to. I have no problems if you want to move here and follow the laws like the rest of us.

We need to STOP THE FLOW NOW!!!, and then worry about how to fix the situation with those aliens already here illegally. To spend time and law enforcement money on questioning people as to their legal status is not going to fix anything. Even if they deport them by the bus load, they'll be right back. Would you keep a ship in service with a huge hole in the hull, and just keep hiring more sailors with buckets to try to keep the thing from sinking, or would you put the ship in drydock first, fix the hole, and then dry out the bilges?

To be fair, a lot of illegals pay taxes via sales tax and those who have fake SS cards and employment pay payroll taxes yet get no SS benefits.

I agree, especially for skilled workers. Bill O'Reilly likes to talk about how his family immigrated legally but the U.S. didn't have immigration laws setting quotas for Europeans back then, we had them for darkies but not whites.
That being said, all legal immigrants are required to carry their paperwork by Fed law. There are decades of Supreme Court legal precedent regarding probable cause and it applies to the Arizona law. I don't see a valid profiling challenge but there is an arguable case for Arizona usurping fed duties regarding interaction with foreign nationals.

Anyways, the first "immigrants" who came here, came to a land that was no country. There were no rules or regulations. There were no borders. Even if for one second we look at it as an act of hostility, to come here and take other's land by force, indians tried to defend themselves, but lost. They were not good enough. That was not the situation anyways. But using that as an argument to justify illegal aliens invading the country, is totally cheap. I don't think this thread turned the way the OP suspected it would.
Other undocs pay taxes with a special tax registration number and then never collect. Taxes aren't deducted from their wages, but they go out of their way to pay every year because they think it will help them become documented (even there there is absolutely no pathway to LPR status/citizenship for them).

You get the occasional Christian terrorist that bombs an abortion clinic or murders a doctor but a casual look at the religious domestic nutjobs...they're Muslim. Most Christians have abandoned their militant streak against society, other than gays and abortion, but many Muslim beliefs conflict with our "Christian" culture. Per capita, there are a hell of a lot more domestic Muslim nutjobs than Christian nutjobs....and I'm no fan of Christos.
