Hollinaise Sauce...whats in it?

I ordered poached eggs at a cafe this morning and it came w hollinaise sauce on the side...what does it contain? It looks like oily mayo?? I guess it would be ok on a keto diet..does anyone know?

Sounds like eggs benedict minus the ham... It is hollindaise sauce, and is made with egg yolks and butter. The only thing I can think of worse is deep fried cheese!!!!

It's basically eggs, butter, lemon juice and salt. Chefs like to play around a lot with this one so there is no telling what was in yours, but the classic recipe is what's above. It can be very high calorie and rich so a little goes a long way.

i love hollandaise sauce. i make it at home sometimes and it has butter milk and lemon. i use low fat or fat free milk and half the butter

i dont think you would have a prob with it on a keto diet but otherwise its a side to stay away from...
