I think old school is pre playstation one but that's me

For me I have to go with the 1st Zelda on NES and new school Resident Evil Code Veronica or Dreamcast.

Excite Bike was the first game that you could *write* to.

You could make a track and then race on it.

Sure, it was writing to flash and was erased on reboot.

Still a HUGE step forward in gaming.
