Waking up with NUMB ARMS!

wow i had no idea i sheared this problem with so many others i never even related it to weights i always thought i had some weired blood circulation problem, if i sleep on my back i snore so loud i wake my self up if i sleep on my stomache my arms go numb its scarry i just massage my hand till i get feeling back in it, usually takes a couple mins

I'm going to assemble my panel of experts and see if I can come up with a valid explaination for this malady. This is what we know so far, the two common demoninators are; muscle growth and sleep. Some folks have stated that they have numb arms even though they don't do AS. But they do work out heavily. Everyone indicates that this only occurs during sleep. If it were as simple as blood pooling in the muscle after excerise then the numbness should occur anytime we put our arms over our head for an extended period. Example, I went to the pool yesterday afternoon and laid on my back for an hour with my arms extended above my head, no numbness. What's missing? Sleep! Personally, I don't have these problems if I'm not taking AS. I think the mechanism behind this is much more complicated that we're guessing, and if anyone out there whom may need a Graduate disertation could have just hit a goldmine.

My limbs go numb when i dont get regular massage

i get 2 hours of nueromuscular therapy a week....all the numbness goes away...go figure, must have something to do with muscles compressing nerves or something

I believe the missing component to be the pressure of one's body weight, downward facing, along with the pressure and possible constriction of blood flow from that "artery" under our collar bone that supplies our arms when above or perpendicular to our body.

Sleep also as you stated because of the pressure and angle during an extended period of time.

All due to "more than nessesary" muscle mass on our upper bodies, particularly in our upper chest and shoulder girdle (sp?!) , AAS or not (my case).

Very interesting that alot of people suffer from this, thankfully it's not life threatening and we'll all live after we experience the slight scare in the morning and flopping around of "dead" appendages for a few momments.

For the Males,
