Waking up with NUMB ARMS!

I firmly believe that there's more to it than body position or occlusion of the subclavian. I have this same issue while on a cycle but it quickly resolves after I stop the AS. I just can't figure out the mechanism. I'm currently leaning towards the possiblity that the normal atonia associated with REM sleep that occurs at the neural synapse may be esqued and transfered to the mylinated nerves of the cervical spine. This would indeed cause the feeling of paralysis in the upper extremities and resolve very quickly upon awakening, which is exactly the symptoms I suffer. The supraphysiological levels of blood Testosterone that occur during an AS cycle may extend the chemical response to atonia in the brain and allow leakage of the normal barrier to ancillary regions. Or....it could be my neck is just too fuckin big! :chomp:

blood pools in veins. flexing of muscles helps pump that blood back to the heart, that's why arteries have much more muscle around them then veins, veins need the skeletal muscles to help get the blood up to the heart. not flexing mucles/using them, in your sleep, allows that blood to pool.

id like to know if this happens to guys who have never tried AAS as frequently. weather your 120 pounds or 250, if you use steroids the new mass is going to impede on something. thats my 2 cents.

btw it happens to me all the time.

Try a body pillow(60') and try for a position that is not on your belly or on your side you'll have to experiement until you find a postion that works for your arm underneath. Also, don't fight the urge to roll over (and with the pillow) and try your arms straighter - your hand bent up towards your shoulder or face just aggravates the problem.

Good Luck

Carpal tunnel will do it too. Basically it comes down to either:

1. A problem in the spine, or;

2. Overuse.
