Ultimate Fighter, Season 2

I think Jorge is a pretty solid fighter. He pushed the fight and did the best he could with an injured knee against a guy bigger than him.

Pride is in a ring, does not allow elbows, allows head stomps, allows knees and kicks to the face when on the ground. In addition if a fighter is stalling the ref can issue a red or yellow card which results in a deduction of the fighters purse. Also the first round in pride is 10 min long.

I give Jorge credit... he looked good in round one when his knee was functioning... but that Von Flue is terrible. His punches could not break a wet paper bag. The caliber of fighters they have this season seem to be pretty bad.

Well this weeks fight was at least entertaining compared to that snorefest last week. Jorge talked a big game but I really didn't see him use his BJJ background or much Muay Thai during the fight. Jason trains with Chuck Lidell in SLO and you can tell with his freestyle fighting. Jason needs to hit the weights because those skinny little arms are only good for swatting flys. He also seems to bleed easily and his eyes swelled up pretty quick with only a couple of light taps.

What impressed me the most was the challenge on the episode. Holy Shit - almost 2 hours of circling your partner - pretty fucking impressive. Franklin showed some intelligence as a coach and forfeited but it would have been interesting to see if anybody could have come close to team Hughes in this event.

I don't know if it's just me but Randy Couture looks completely bored eac  h episode when he comes on and gives his Right Guard Extreme Challenge pitch.

Yea Jorge did alright the first round, I was just expecting him to be more explosive or something... He had it won too when he got the naked choke on Jason. I have no idea how he got out of it, it looked like blood was being squeezed out of his head.

Jorge was winning before his knee poped
I have to say it was dumb of him to push the knee with that roundkick in the first place knowing it was injured but considering once he made thatmistake he was screwed
before that mistake he was definatly in control of the fight
and I expected him to have a lot of trouble cus of the other guys reach advatnage
reach is one hell of a good advatnage to have
it's one of those things that non-fighters or people who point spar are always like "big deal 3 inches reach, just lean" and right when you hear that you know they've never had a real match with someone that had reach on them..

there was no naked choke on
Jorge was looking fo rit but didn't really have it
his forearm was accross Van Flue's chin which can still tap someone out but it's not a choke so the other guy just kind of pulled his other hand down which stopped any leverage advantage he had then just leaning or rolling forward was enough to overpower Jorges arm
if he had really gotten that choke in I doubt the other guy would have escaped
also if he had gotten his other hand to the back of the targets head, he could have held the 'choke' easier and it'd have been harder for the other guy to pull his arm down

and yes that challenge was amazing
and when it had gone for more then an hour my first thought was do one rotation and quit...so same thing the other guy thought of

It was a good fight. I was in pain just watching those guys, imagining how physically tired they were. I liked Jorge and was sad to see him go. Like others have said though, that challenge was one of the most amazing things I've seen. For nearly 2 hours those guys did that shit I could not believe it. Joe is one tough mother and my pick for the one to watch that could possibly win the contest in his division.

I'd say he's my pick to but we have only really seen him as far as a Welterwaits go cus of other people eliminating each other etc
so it's hard to say
but Matt siad he's the best on his team at takedowns and submissions and Matt was picking the wrestlers so he's probubly going to be able to put any fighter there on the ground which will likely spell out a victory barring a bad cut or something from a solid jab
