Tonight, leg night... a tear to my eye. ... Squats

Nothing beats having 420lbs on your back then you have to sink down into the hole and come up with it. One of the best feelings in the world. . . many people tend to disagree;) .

Never had that much on my back... I had in the mid 300's... back in 1998 before I injured my shoulder... my squats gain weight fast... I just hope this method can be as effective as with the bar on the back of my shoulders

That safety bar looks cool. I've seen bars with a similar indentation in them... with an indentation near the center of the bar... so if I wanted to hold the bar, my hands would be further forward... I think that would allow me to put the weight on my back.

But for now, front squats will do... I look forward to be doing 300+ in a few weeks... ;)

Teen, good idea. I really like the dip squats, with the right belt and a thick towel. ;)
 
Have you ever thought about using Vice Grips to aid you in doing squats? Just buy a pair of large vice grips and clamp them down onto the bar. Hopefully they would be able to extend your grip out into your ROM. :)

Interesting first post for a great philosopher... :)

That is a very interesting idea... I could hook them up to the bar and then use them to hold onto the bar with.... I wonder how 24/7 fitness would feel about all that noise... hehe, or if I lost a grip on one of the vices... or worse yet, if one came loose! :)

But still, it is a great suggestion!
