Seriously. The Rock is way more watchable than the likes of Clive Owen & Keanu Reaves who don't have any problems getting parts.

The Rock is one of the few legit action movie capable stars today.
He actually has more cred than Stallone or Arnold ever had.
He was an aggressive football player. Shot to the top in pro wrestling with charisma and solid athletic ability.
I think stallone was right about the issue with actors just being able to put on muscle suits.
Some of the stars do get in killer shape. Most noticably Gerard Butler.
But, the problem is the cred. To really suspend reality and truly believe the character you are watching on screen is "the man" he also has to have some of this off screen as well.
This generally takes a guy that is a physical culture nut and has something badass about them.
People like Vin Diesel cuz he clearly works out and he was a bouncer at one point in his life. He has real cred so it's easier to believe he's a badass in a movie.
The Rock is the closest we are going to get in hollywood for a serious action star type of guy.
I think one of these days/years there will be a new action hero. Some random joe that is jacked will get a part in a B movie and he'll have the charisma to pull it off and become a bonafied action star like Arnold or Stallone, but who knows how long it will be until then.
