Do both.

Alternate 1 week deads, 1 week rows & GMs. Both work stabilizers in varying fashions and the goal is to keep your muscles working hard without full adaptation to any paticular exercise. This is the only way to achieve maximal growth through interval routines. You have to mix it up.
 
Agree Tboy but there is a great deal of benefit out of varied routines.

SLDLS are mainly for the hamstrings and have a secondary impact on the lower back.
