I'm a BJJ (and former judo) practicioner I'm very new to weight lifting, all I've done before was martial arts but I've decided to take weightlifting seriously.
Something I've noticed is that bodybuilders usually use a tempo based on "weight-pumping" (explosive concentric, little to no excentric) and very low amplitude.
Powerlifters on the other hand use an extended tempo (explosive concentric, isometric and extended excentric) and maximum amplitude.
I understand the training method of powerlifters but I cant understand the one of BBs. Is there any scientific base for this?
Its easy to see it in the squat. BBs squat with very little amplitude while PLs squat atg.
PS: I could say that its just one or another BBer that trains like that and thats what we see on footage, but the BBers at my gym always train with weight-pumping + low amplitude so I'm a little confused here.
