Six year old girl groped by TSA (video)

Uhhh, yes it has.

US v. Davis:

And the 4th amendment only protects you against being searched against your will, except in the case of alleged criminal action. An airport search is not against your will. By choosing to fly, you are choosing to be searched. You can easily choose not to be searched by choosing another mode of transportation. That's not unlawful.

It's the same thing as having the right to free speech, but it being illegal to yell FIRE! in a crowded room. It's not about your individual right, it's about endangering the safety of the larger population.

Are you stupid? You honestly think the government is stepping out of line by having strict safety regulations before sending 100 people thousands of feet in the air in tons of metal? You're probably right though, I'd be much more willing to blow up than I would to let someone pat me down for a couple minutes.

haha dumbshit

This IS about the 4th amendment, and this IS about the right for me to not be searched. The basic premise that there is even a terrorist threat is a lie to begin with. Terrorism has been manufactured by the people who want to justify occupation in the middle east. You cant occupy a region without an enemy. In this case, the enemy are muslims. It is very similar to our involvement in Vietnam where Communism was used as an enemy. "Fear" is a tactic used to control the masses. The war in Iraq and Afghanistan is a BIG FAT FUCKING LIE. It all has to do with oil currencies, that being the 'petro dollar'

Henry Kissinger represented the IMF and went to the oil producing nations and offered them a deal to help them with modern technology to extract their oil more efficiently. In exchange, they had to only sell their oil to the US dollar. What this did was allowed the U.S. to dominate the sale of oil. So non-oil producing developed nations NOW had to sell their goods and services to the U.S. to acquire those precious dollars in order to purchase their oil. It is a scam, and if you dont believe it, look up "petro dollar" and read about it yourself!

These so called terrorist threats are a hoax. And THATS why this little girl should not have been searched, or anybody else, should be subjected to this form of abuse. For those of you who want to justify this kind of behavior, maybe you should read the Constitution and learn what freedom and liberty is all about.

lol @ Glad saying I'M dumb.

And what I quoted has nothing to do with the war in the middle east and whether it's warranted or not. The case I quoted happened in the 1970's, long before this war even happened. So clearly there was a reason for stricter-than-normal safety standards while on airplanes years before the current situation. There goes 80% of whatever bullshit you were trying to spew.

The 4th amendment guarantees you the right to not be unreasonably searched, not to never be searched at all. I think making sure people don't have explosives or weapons on a plane, a plane itself being an already unstable place to be, is a reasonable request. More importantly, like we've all said, flying in a plane is not your right. Because boarding a plane is elective, so too is being searched before boarding one and because that is an elective process, it's not unconstitutional. You subject yourself to that search to fly, it is not forced upon you. If plane was the only form of transportation that existed in the world, maybe. Fortunately, it's not. So cash in some silver and go buy your happy ass a boat or train ticket next time you need to travel.

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here. The government has no right to set up shop outside of private airlines and search it's own citizens. They do it but it's not legal. It goes directly against the constitution of the United States.
Example: Black Friday best buy has a monster sale. The local sheriffs office gets to Best Buy and sets up body scanners and private tents. Prior to you entering this "unstable" and dangerous area you are subjecting yourself to the sheriffs deputies searching random patrons. This is the exact same thing they have do e at our airports. Was the metal detectors and other safety measures not enough?

In a free society we must not trade our civil liberties and freedoms on the condition of "safety".

i was going to ask dabangem to cite the 4th and explain, based on the language therein, why he feels airport searches are unlawful.

but eh...why bother.

i did like the airport/sidewalk comparison, however.

I didn't even read the thread, but has anyone brought up the fact that by simply buying a ticket you give up your rights?

In the 70's there were hijackings going on. It still does not give them (TSA) the right to violate people's privacy. A legal action needs to be filed seeking to overturn or alter the U.S. vs Davis ruling by the 9th Circuit Court. TSA has overstepped their boundaries and should be shut down completely. They say they are protecting us from terrorists. That's a joke, unless they are referring to the terrorists who control and occupy the White House (Both Republican and Democrat). And, what I posted has everything to do with what is happening in airport security. It's all about 911 and the tragedy that took place. But the blame is being put on Muslims in general. And that's both wrong and actually pretty stupid because most Muslims here in the US and Canada do not care that much about the homeland traditions.
