Six year old girl groped by TSA (video)

4th amendment stands. This has never been "settled". I have said what I need to say. But again this is why every day our civil rights are eroded more and more.

We must not and can not trade our rights for security. At no cost is this acceptable. And I will not just as you have so eloquently put it STFU.

Uhhh, yes it has.

US v. Davis:

...noting that airport screenings are considered to be administrative searches because they are conducted as part of a general regulatory scheme, where the essential administrative purpose is to prevent the carrying of weapons or explosives aboard aircraft. ...[an administrative search is allowed if] no more intrusive or intensive than necessary, in light of current technology, to detect weapons or explosives, confined in good faith to that purpose, and passengers may avoid the search by electing not to fly.”
And the 4th amendment only protects you against being searched against your will, except in the case of alleged criminal action. An airport search is not against your will. By choosing to fly, you are choosing to be searched. You can easily choose not to be searched by choosing another mode of transportation. That's not unlawful.

It's the same thing as having the right to free speech, but it being illegal to yell FIRE! in a crowded room. It's not about your individual right, it's about endangering the safety of the larger population.

Are you stupid? You honestly think the government is stepping out of line by having strict safety regulations before sending 100 people thousands of feet in the air in tons of metal? You're probably right though, I'd be much more willing to blow up than I would to let someone pat me down for a couple minutes.

how the hell do you think this covers airports? a place surrounded by other people and businesses with their own set of right, where you are obtaining a service by choice as a privilege and not right....

There is but one law that we abide by and that is the constitution. It covers all of our lands and territories applicable. This is not a pick and choose. You must see the difference between a private security detail hired by a business. The TSA is a government entity funded by the taxpayers. Because it is funded by the taxpayers and a government entity they are also governed by te same set of rules. Ie the 4th amendment.

See, I don't care about the pat downs or the scanner machines, what has me sitting up nights worrying is what's going to happen when the terrorists figure out how to make:
1. Rectal suppository bombs.

2. Tampon bombs.

3. Bombs that can be swallowed or surgically inserted into the abdominal cavity.

They already can. Breast implants. Fill one with ammonium nitrate and one with hydrazine... puncture, mix, astrolite.

Or nitrocellulose in both, iPhone/iPod:iPad battery and simple flex circuit added in the case = detonator.

Could make TATP the same way.

*shrugs* they need to remove TSA go back to bag xray and metal detectors BUT allow firearms. Who's gonna hijack a plane where potentially every passenger is armed. Then up armor cockpits to be able to take small arms fire.

That's fine. Please show me one instance where the TSA has thwarted an attack. Don't bother looking because there is no such example.

This is the same mentality that Bush used to pass the Patriot Act. We can monitor your calls and listen in without any warrant because it's for the greater good. No thanks buddy. We already have metal detectors an our bags are screened we take off our shoes, belt, and anything else that clanks. Now people believe that it is ok for a Federal agent to stop you Place their hands on every inch of your body and inside your waist band in the search of contraband or explosives without any probable cause?? Are you seriously agreeing with such tactics? The TSA agent rubbed the bottom of that little girl. Placed her hands in between her legs and on her breasts. Thus is acceptable to you as an America. Even though no TSA officer has thwarted a terrorist attack?

lol

The TSA publishes a report weekly. During one week alone in November 2010 (11/8-11/14), the TSA prevented 11 firearms from being carried on a plane (resulting in 6 arrests) and discovered six concealed sharp prohibited items (eg box cutters, knives, etc).

That's just one week.

Personally, I think we should institute a system like Israel's (that relies on smart, well trained people profiling the shit out of everyone that steps foot in the airport) but let's get real here.

75th I do agree with you. They actually also use people here now who study body language. And I'd be fine with it if it were not unconstitutional. Israel doesn't take any shit and they are not worried about hurting feelings of the politically correct.

And although they may have captured such items that is not correlational to a terrorist plot. I will respectfully disagree with the findings of their weekly newsletter.

lmao

It's not like theyre stating an opinion - something you could "respectfully disagree with." They are stating fact. They actually arrested 6 people that week after discovering that 11 firearms were trying to be smuggled onto airplanes.

That's kind of like you telling Brad Pitt you respectfully disagree when he tells you he starred in a movie called Fight Club.

I used to work for a 3-letter and I'll quickly tell you not only to be highly suspicious of government publications but that there are far more grave concerns to you than a damn box cutter.

I dont deny that at all.

And that was why I will respectfully disagree with their "findings". I don't doubt they may have even found them I just don't think that means they stopped a terrorist attack.

I carry a firearm and a knife on me everyday. If I somehow forgot about my pocket knife and attempted to board a plane. Get searched and they find it. Confiscate it, does that mean they thwarted my terrorist plot to capture the plane with my SOG Flash? That's all I was saying.
