Hello FISHTALES,
This week, EliteFitness.com Karma gets cooler than ever! Here's the exciting changes that are on the way. And if you don't know what Karma is, read on - I'll explain that too.
First off, I'm proud to introduce the new Platinum Casino (beta). The casino is open for all our members both Platinum and non-Platinum. You can play Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Keno, Video Poker, and Slots - all with your Karma Hits. Here's a link to start having fun in the new Platinum Casino (beta) right now!
There's more good news! Now, Platinum Members get even more Karma every time their Platinum Membership renews. Each month that you pay for gets you 5,000 Karma Hits! So for example, if you buy three months and get the fourth month free, you'll get 20,000 Karma Hits when you join and 20,000 more every four months when your membership renews. The more months you buy at once, the more free months and Karma you get! For example, buy a one year Platinum Membership and get 7 months free plus 95,000 Karma Hits - that's 5,000 for each month.
We also lowered the price of Karma in the Karma store. Here's what you get now!
Get 5,000 Hits plus a 5,000 Platinum Bonus - Your Price: $9.97 (billed only once)
Get - 20,000 Hits plus a 20,000 Platinum Bonus - Your Price: $19.97 (billed only once)
Get - 50,000 Hits plus a 50,000 Platinum Bonus - Your Price: $39.97 (billed only once)

Here's another change that is probably going to be controversial, but will stop Karma Ponzi schemes and Karma Whoring. When you give someone Karma, you are giving them your own Karma, not minting more. Remember, since you get much more on Platinum Membership renewals and since it now costs much less if you buy it, this will be less of a sting. Non-Plats, would have 2 x Karmic Power subtracted from their total Karma Hits. Another thing to remember is that Plats can still hit for between 10% and 110% of Karmic Power, so if you are Plat, and you want to reward someone for a quality post, you can hit as little as 10% of your Karmic Power and won't feel a big dent in your war chest. Those with 0 Karmic Power would hit gray like they do now. This should also help us get back to hitting members only when they post something that is really quality. Things remain the same for Chairman Members including their hitting for 200% Karmic Power.
Everyone needs to be able to have fun with Karma immediately when they join EF, so we raised the number of hits you get when you register from 10 to 100. Also, now, everyone needs 5,000 karma hits before your Karma counts on other members plus, for every 10,000 Karma Hits for non-Plats and 5,000 Karma Hits for Plats, members gain 1 point of Karmic power.
Last but not least, we are opening Karma Poker - where you will be able to play Texas Holdem with the other members of EF. I'll send you a new PM when that goes live! And I'll see you on the forums!

Karma is the green currency of the Elite Fitness.com Discussion Forums. It looks like this and appears next to a member's posts. When you read a post on the forums that you like, take your mouse and touch a member's Karma Yin Yang, the small icon that look like this , and let the member know that you approve of his or her posts. You can also leave a little note if you really think the post was helpful. It's a cool way to give props to all the members on the forum. If you dislike a member's post, you can give him "negative Karma" by disapproving of his post when you use your mouse to touch his Yin Yang.
The more good Karma you get, from members' clicking on your Yin Yang, along with the number of months you've been on the site combined with your total post count equals how much Karma you'll be able to give to other members when you click their Yin Yangs. A new member may only be able to give 10 karma hits at a time. But a well respected veteran of the boards, with a huge Yin Yang, can perhaps give out 500 karma hits at once or even more!
Here's where a Platinum Membership comes in. You also get more Karma when you become a Platinum Member of the forums. Now you get 5000 Karma hits for each month of a Platinum Membership that you invest in. Get a Month to Month membership and you get 5000 Karma hits when you join and 5000 more EVERY time your membership renews. Choose the three month membership which includes a fourth month free, and you'll get 20000 karma hits when you join plus 20000 more every time the membership renews. The six month membership includes three months free, 45000 Karma hits plus 45000 more every time your membership renews. The one year membership comes with 7 months free, 95000 karma hits plus 95,000 Karma Hits with each renewal. And the Lifetime membership includes 200,000 karma hits. You can also buy more Karma and other fun stuff at George Spellwin's Karma Store - and Platinum Members always get twice as much Karma for what they spend.
