If there is not a silver hologram on the box, does this mean that it's counterfeit? I got four kits, all look identical, except two of them have holograms and two don't. (three of them apparently had prescription stickers which where ripped off) They are the 126 i.u. kits. Any ideas?

i just recieved two kits my self and both had the hylogram. i would take about 10 ius of the non hylogram gh and see if your tendons in your wrists and fingers ache. if they do then they are real also you can take a few ius of the non hylogram gh b4 u go to bed and in the morning do a pregnency test. if it is + then it is fake, this identifies HCG, good luck

Post your Lot or Call and verify yourself, if they ask your friend has full blown AIDS and he can't afford medical insurance and you just need to validate some lot numbers (I'd call from a pay phone):

For medical inquiries or reports of concerns about Serostim®, patients and physicians should call the Serono Product Information and Surveillance Group at 888-275-7376. This service includes 24-hour coverage for emergencies.

well..

OK first before you call serno. Are the other 2 export kits??? Export kits do not have a hologram.. Post the lot#. Or you can just do the preg. test and find out.

Hi, here is a post I made a few weeks ago at the suggestion of IronMaster. I ran this by him and he asked I post it publicly as well. Hope it helps

When I first began taking it, I was concerned about buying fake GH so I began to ask around if there was a way to test it. Apperently, everyone around here even the competing bodybuilders, seems rather uneducated on the GH issue. i got alot of conflicting info on dosage, MUCH less the authenticity of GH. Their comments generally were "oh, these guys are connected, its real", Well, that did little to ease my mind, after reading how even pros have bought HCG packaged as GH. So after like 2 weeks of racking my brain I looked up what HCG really was.Ii mean I used it after coming off a cycle but once I dug into its real nature I realized that this is the substance that pregnant women produce. After thinking about it I researched what made a pregnantcy test work and found out that it is testing for the presence of HCG. So, I did a test. I bought 2 tests, put a drop of HCG on one and several drops of GH on the other and ran them under water. Sure enough, the HCG test was positive and the other negative. So, assumiing that 30% of GH is fake (thats just a guess), and conterfiet GH is HCG 90% of the time, that would mean a negative pregnecy test would conclude that one is 97% certian it is real. This could be slightly higher or lower depending on the real numbers but it would not vary much. And having some test is better than no test!

Sebastion, the numbers on the non-hologram box are as follows: lot mof599a1
exp 05/02
If you know anything about these, let me know, if not I will just try the preg test. Do I have to inject im for the preg test or stick with sub Q?

SERONO STATEMENT REGARDING COUNTERFEIT SEROSTIM®

Norwell, MA, January 22, 2001 - Serono, Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is informing patients, physicians and distributing pharmacies about a counterfeit version of Serono's Serostim® 6mg [somatropin (rDNA origin) for injection]. Serostim® is approved for the treatment of AIDS wasting.

Unlike genuine Serostim® 6mg, the counterfeit product is of unknown safety and efficacy and may pose a health risk to patients. The counterfeit product, which is definitely not Serostim®, was neither manufactured nor distributed by Serono.

Serono recently became aware of the existence of the counterfeit drug. Serono has issued a "Notification of Potential Counterfeit Product" to wholesalers, pharmacists, physicians and AIDS service organizations to alert them, in an effort to prevent patients currently undergoing Serostim® therapy from receiving the counterfeit product. The counterfeit product has been packaged to appear as drug product lot number MNK612A and is readily distinguishable from authentic Serostim® by the following features:

Features of Counterfeit lot #MNK612A

7-Pack Box:

- Expiration Date: "08/02"

- A separate dark blue label is affixed to one end of the carton. The lot number and expiration date are printed on the label in white lettering.
Features of Authentic lot #MNK612A

- Expiration Date: "08/01"
-A dark blue box is printed directly on one end of the carton. The lot number and expiration date are printed on the dark blue box in white lettering. (There is no label affixed to the carton.)

Serostim® Vial:

- Expiration Date: "08/02"

- Label has straight cut corners

- Contains white, powdery "snow-like" substance and is sometimes stuck to the stopper.
- Expiration Date: "08/01"

- Label has slightly rounded corners

- Product is white lyophilized "cake", approximately 1/8" thick at the bottom of the vial.

Diluent Vial:

- Lot #: "99h124"

- Expiration Date: "08/02"
- Lot #: "99H124"

- Expiration Date: "06/02"

Good, Educated Post....................... Couldn't have said it better myself.

M.O.D., My gh is not characteristic of the counterfeit on the Serono statement, but I don't think that necessarily means that it is legit. I am hoping that the preg test will let me know.
