I came down to my chest with my knees and let my knees go out even, so a bit past my chest... yeah hard to breathe in that position so I didn't say down there too long. Last set was hard, close to failure... feeling weak, could be attributed to food and/or deep tissue last night.

Step-ups: BWx10, +40x8, +60x8, +100x10

ps=paces
Farmers: 85's for 38ps, 95's for 30ps, 105's for 32ps, 115's for 32*
*first time I didn't drop the 115's when I turned around, just shrugged them up and re-gripped... my grip is getting stronger.

SLDL off Box*: 135x12, 185x8, 185x8**

*Box was (if I had to guess ~6 inches). The bar hit my instep if I rolled the bar back.
**over shot the weight big time, lol... hard as hell, could barely walk after... hammy's toast, back a lil' pumped... tight, no pain, feels worked... feels great.


Shrugs: 185x8, 225x8, 315x8, 405x3*, 135x10
*Exhausted, no more energy, weak.. I had to strap up for 225 too, grip was toast

My karate intro session was 45 minutes of me sweating my big ass off in a hot little private lesson room, lol.

The style is VERY similar to my old one... so I'd progress quickly if I decide to join after my 2nd free intro.

Thankfully I could walk by the time I got there...after lifting my legs were jello... I had enough energy to blast the bag for my instructor though :evil:

:) Thanks! I dunno... once we talk about the $$$ I'll see if I can swing it... it's not exactly 30 per month like a gym membership... I'm hoping to negotiate with 'em, lol.

lol, I swear you just resumed karate as an excuse to use the :karate: smiley.

So what's the plan for your back? Do you still plan to have some imaging done after the first of the year?

Also, I want to pimp that T-Nation article again. Even if it isn't the cause of your back issues, the worst consequence of working on that exaggerated curve will be that it makes your stomach look flatter. ;)

Yup, I can and will have some kind of imaging done early '07 if my back isn't better. It was so close to being in the "green"/really good range, before I slept in a hotel bed again... it's like i was set back a week or 2 again.

I checked out the t-nation article... interesting.

^^^ for my ease of use and all the lurkers so they don't have to google it, awww i'm so considerate, lol :p

I've skimmed all the articles, it'll take me a few more readings to absorb it all. Great stuff for sure. That IT band /glute stretch my chiro introduced me to...that's a great one.

Argh, sarge, you edited what you said about tight hips/glutes/left hamstring and just changed it to "interesting". :p

But yeah, that's exactly the stuff that the T-Nation stretching articles do a good job of covering. Namely, a tight back (or shoulders or whatever else) doesn't happen in isolation. So go nuts on those stretches if you've been slacking. :)

LOL! I didn't think i was editing, i thought i had done the "preview post" :rolleyes: whatever.. if u copied it... paste it. I got carried away cutting "fluff" i figured it wasn't nessesary.

I stretch more than Gumby :)

For the lower back issues I have my chiro. is always amazed at how "flat" I can get my back... meaning I can almost fold in half... I can more than touch my toes... I hold the back of my ankles and pull myself in to my legs.
