Question for the homophobes...

strongchick

Well-known member
Make me understand, please, why it is that you care about who someone sleeps with, fucks, screws, whatever.
This is my attempt to understand 'straight' people.

(And please don't give me the name calling crap. Try to keep this civil.)

Anytime I make a reference to a male on this board, my sexuality comes up....as if I'm 'stuck' with women, since I am not straight.

Let me make it clear....I have been _assigned_ a label by my society. I am not, in my mind, gay or straight or bi. I love who I love. Body parts are body parts, to me, just like calves, pecs, biceps, etc. Love, however, is a completely separate issue...I have never been in love with a man, and probably never will. This is not something I can explain.

Why do any of you care who any of us fucks? This is a 'cyber' board.

Well if bodyparts are just bodyparts, then u must fall in love with the mind. I think theres a hermaphrodite out there waiting for you.

Who gives a shit who fucks who. As long as no dude sneeks up behind me.

Anyway, more gay guys= more females for me:D

NO dumbass. But since you're posting....thank you. All dumb ass homophobes post here so I'll know who you are.

Hey chump (or should I say chumpette w/ the fro?) it does matter who somone fucks. That is why girls have pussys, for guys to stick their dick in. If one dick was meant to be put in another, the hole would be bigger. And jesus was white BTW.

im already confused, do you wanna understand homophobes or straight people. all "straight" are not homophobes.

Let me make it clear....I have been _assigned_ a label by my society. I am not, in my mind, gay or straight or bi. I love who I love. This is not something I can explain.

labels are neccesary for indentification purposes, some people welcome labels. in the end though it is you who chooses whether to accept any label. in other words i choose not to let labels bother me. and im sure there is a label for people who dont wanna accept labels.

Why do any of you care who any of us fucks? This is a 'cyber' board.

I don't think you can separate love and physical attraction. In other words, I don't see how you can say, "I love who I love" regardless of body parts, then say you have never, and probably will never be in love with a man in the same sentence. How can you say I love who I love, but that doesn't apply to men?

I don't mind if someone is gay or lesbian, but it becomes bothersome when they throw it in your face by altering their voice, and acting abnormally to flaunt their sexuality.

This leads me to the conclusion that a a lot (NOTE I DIDN'T SAY ALL POTENTIAL FLAMERS) of homosexuals are not biologically homosexual, but suffered some traumatic event to push them to homosexuality.

My tendency is to toss men aside when I am 'finished'.

Most men can certainly separate love and physical attraction...!

You misunderstood me. Yes, most men can separate them, but no one can be "in love" with someone that they are not physically attracted to. You are not physically attracted to men, yet you say you can love, meaning "be in love with" anyone. How is this possible?

Strongchick,

I know someone who I consider a friend. She is gay. I am a homophobe to a point. I consider the act of sleeping with someone of the same sex to be absolutly disgusting. I was raised in a home where you love everyone, meaning you dont hate someone for being gay. I dont hate people that are gay, not at all and I dont feel sorry for them either. I wouldnt hate my friend if he told me he was gay but I also know in reality that we would drift very far apart as friends. It just is that way.

I know that my friend sometimes wishes she wasnt gay but she is and shes a 40 year old profesional woman. I dont feel sorry for her but i wish she was able to let go of the fact that other people "society" doesnt approve. They never will. I never will give my badge of aproval. I hope I never have any gay children but I will still love them if they are.

heres the meat of my post please read this as I was telling you with grave sincerity.

*I do not understand being gay. I mentaly and emotionaly cannot understand it. I have tried but cannot, maybe only gay people can understand gay people, I really have tried to understand their perspective.*

I know this probably doesnt help much but thats where I stand to date without going into detail. I dont think gay people are bad people but it still "weirds" me out when I think about the act of sex or love with the same sex. Male or Female.

Suposedly every guy loves hot lesbians and I used to drol over pictures in magazines when i was younger but as I get older It just doesnt do it for me, not at all. Maybe I am at the "marrying age" of my life. Hell I dont know. Just some insight on one "homophobe" as you put it.

My advice to you would be to get over it and enjoy your life. If I had someone who wasnt white calling me "cracker" on this board I think I would laugh, because it has happened in real life and its hilarious really. Your gay- Who cares. the world doesnt hopefully you find someone who does in this life.

I'm trying to say that when I'm horny sex with men is okay but it isn't the same as with women, and I CAN"T fall in love with a man...at least it hasn't happened so far.

A little afraid of commitment are we??
As far as the homo thing is concerned, it is simply a perception of the public and the way in which the weak follow suit.

That's fine. It's just that when you say, " I love who I love," implying that you can love anyone, that isn't really accurate. Seems to me you can truly only "love" women. Plus the fact that although you can have sex with men, you don't enjoy it. I can only infer from this that you are gay. Without getting into morality here, society does have a word for what you are. Why fight it? It's just a word.

Ok, I'm not a total homophobe but I am a bit scared of gay men. Personally, my experience has been that most homosexuals are very flambouyant. This intimidates me.

I'm also scared of the blurring of the sexes. I've been fooled by a hot ass girl on TV winding up being a guy. I think to myself, "If this is attractive, does that make me gay?" It's all very confusing. I do love vagina, though, and the thought of having anything near my ass sends chills down my spine. I've never let a girl go near my ass to this very day.

I don't think this is true at all. Many people reach states where they lose sexual passion for someone but remain in love with the person. this is somewhat my situation now. Our remedy was an open relationship and it has worked well for six years.

I think this also operates by degree. I was certainly deeply in love with my wife and had plenty of sex with her, but it was a world-making change when I had sex with a man: there I found a greater depth of sexual passion. But I doubt that I have ever loved a man with the same depth I loved my wife. Whether this has anything to do with gender, I don't know. I just don't think you can correlate sexual and platonic, even romantic, love with any degree of certainty.

Anything near my ass freaks me out totally. No joke.

I've been piss-ass drunk and my girlfriend and I were doing really crazy shit. She wound up reaching back and trying to stick her finger up my ass. I freaked and the moment was lost--even in my drunken state.

She must have felt like an evil-fingered filthy slut. Did she apologize for offending you?

You have got to be kidding me! Not only are you are black democratic woman, you are a fucking dike too? Bwaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaa that explains a lot.

You must be uglier than a bucket full of assholes. 99% of real life dikes are pigs that could not get a guy unless he was drunk so they had to turn gay.

No, she was surprised and scared from seeing an irate James that few ever really see. Very seldom do things really piss me off like that. I didn't hold it against her, though. She was just being her usual evil-fingered filthy slut.

Let me put it another way. I won't use any absolutes here, but I think it would be extremely rare for someone to FALL in love with someone they are not attracted to physically. If a label such as "gay," "bi," whatever applies to both physical attraction as well as the capacity for true affection, then I don't think someone can say "I love who I love regardless of bodyparts," then completely eliminate one sex from the equation.

this is hell of a productive thread
homophobes will be homophobes and are no better than ignorant rednecks
just my .02:D

MP5,

This is not true at all. Though there are a high number of very butch lesbians. My best friend and most of her friends are fucking hot!!! There are a huge number of lipstick lesbians out there that are drop dead gorgeous. I thought I would help to clarify this huge generalization you made that is completely false.

well based on what little we saw of her in her avatar she's actually quite attractive really.

as for 'gays' and 'dykes', i really couldnt give a shit. if they wanna do what ever they want they can. its their business, it has no ramifications whatsoever on my life. i'll never figure out why some of their voices are high, but like i said its not a biggie really so who cares.

well the guy I am attached to lets everyone know his hate towards gay men. I find this funny because everytime he pulls me out and tries to beat the hell out of me till I throw up all I see on the computer screen are hairy men's asses.

I do pass for straight. Young guys still hit on me....big whoop...but it means I'm not the stereotype you speak of, MP5.

And I've never dated an ugly or masculine woman.

I find it amusing how homophobia is the only phobia that doesn't deal with fear.

acrophobia - "abnormal dread of being at a great height"

claustrophobia - "abnormal dread of being in closed or narrow spaces"

blah-blah-blah-ophobia - "abnormal dread of being blah-blah-blah"

SO WHY IS HOMOPHOBIA THE ONLY PHOBIA THAT MEANS "YOU DON'T LIKE HOMOSEXUALS."

I'm not going by my "self-exempting" definition. I'm going by the definition that logically follows from the non-PC dictionary.

-Warik

Warik:

I think it's because gay people would rather think of you as having some childish fear than completely despising their lifestyle. This way it makes you look irrational and weak. Than it becomes a little cliched term, and suddenly all the gays and liberals jump on the bandwagon and use it indescriminately. I think this is basically what it boils down to.

Webster and the OED are PC? hahahahahhahahahha.

Actually "homophobia" is not even IN the OED, but phobia is, as I already showed you.

Yes, most phobias involve fear, but the defining symptomatic characteristic of many phobias -- of garbage, of corpses, etc. -- is an aversive reaction, disgust. I leave it to YOU, to say that fear underlies those reactions. And, obviously, if you do say that, then what underlies aversion to homosexuals would also be fear.

It's just a way of excusing your disgust -- the same way people say they aren't racist because they don't hate blacks, they just don't "like" them. In any case, I think you better look up "dread." So, Warik, we'll just call you heteosexist, okay? Better?

Yeah. It isn't childish or irrational to hate people because of their consensual lovemaking. I mean, shit, if you put your dick in your girlfriend's ass, that would be disgusting too and you'd deserve to have your civil rights abridged.

i disaprove of the homosexuality, but not the person. i mean, if a person is gay i that does'nt mean i have to hate them. speaking from a religious view, hate the sin not the sinner. but i think homos should have the same basic rights to live life like the rest of us with a few minor exceptions. so aside from that if they want to screw each other and then go work and pay taxes that's fine. just don't tell me i have to except it(homosexuality) or flaunt it in my face with those gay pride parades. that's all i ask. be decent about it please. i know some give all a bad rep same as heteros too. some are nasty pervs while others are decent folks.

does this make me a homophobe, i think not.

I said, " Thank you very much, I appreciate it."

I honestly don't feel as if I harbor any hate for gay men.

well for one i don't think they should be in the pulpit. i know many will start on the preacher thing but a gay preacher is nothing more than a hypocrit and an abomination. since the bible speaks against it(homosexuality) gay preachers are a mockery. that's my stance, but like i said that is one exception. just like i am against women preachers. but that is another thread all together. now here it comes, the religious bashing, the name calling and the labeling. it's ok though, i tried to be civil and honest so i guess i deserve the bashing i'm about to get. **sighs**

All preachers are sinners in the sense that all men are sinners. What makes a gay preacher any more of a sinner than any other man?

yes all men are sinners, but homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of God. he loves them, he also loves murderors and rapists. he hates what they do not them, just to clarify that. you cannot have a homosexual preacher since homosexuality is an abomination, what kind of example would that be setting. the bible teaches against it, yet the preacher is gay. that's a slander and a mockery of God's word. so now, i reinerate, let's get the bashing and flamming going, you know you all want too.

So being gay is on par with murder and rape? What's the difference between sin and abomination? Is abomination worse?

no, i was merely stating that to make the point get through even more. i woul'nd want a rapist or a murderor in the pulpit. that too would be a slander and a mockery. you see what i am saying. we are all sinners, but christians strive not to live in sin, we strive to live according to what the new testament tells us and yes we slip up here and there but we can always repent as we should and ask for forgiveness, with a sincere heart not just to do it. since homosexuality is considered a sin, one lives that way one is living in sin, thus one should not be a preacher. i can't change what you think i am trying to say, you're preception is what it is and there aint nothin i can say or do to change that. i know what i believe and that is that. i never meant for this to be offending just to point out my views.

You mistake my questions for offense. You talk as if the expectation of a fight is the very thing that might cause one. I'm not arguing your views, yet, just clarifying them.

However, selective bible-quoting to support one's homophobia is not uncommon. If you use Leviticus to rationalize your disgust for homosexuality, then you must be consistent. You must also condemn women for cutting their hair, for men to have sex with mentruating women, and so forth.

If you have a problem with gays, that's fine. But for non-practicing "Christians" to quote the bible to back up their prejudices is hypocritical IMO.

I disapprove of heterosexuality -- especially when you're fucking for pure recreation instead of to make babies, the way the LAW OF NATURE requires. But I don't judge the person. I'm fine with it, just quit rubbing my face in your nonprocreational het sex in movies, on stage, in beauty pageants, at the damn Rose Bowl Parade, in clubs. Why do you have to flaunt it??? I mean, if gays can stop flaunting their sexuality, shouldn't breeders be able to, as well? Sex is a divinely ordained human experience meant only to celebrate love between husband and wife by creating new lives. Anything else is your own decision. JUST DON'T RUB OUR FACES IN IT.

(musclebrains, 2001)

this is good. I am going to use this in an argument soon. don't worry, though, I will be sure to use proper citation as above.

i'm a "practicing" christian. you tend to forget that i am a new testament chrsitian. things have changed as far as the cutting hair and such goes. i don't have a problem with gays in general, i just have a problem with them being preachers or priests. that's all.

musclebrains and stronghchick, hypocrosy. i think not. i said there are pervs on both sides of the fence. when i said flaunt i was speaking in terms of gay pride parades. when you see people walking down the street butt pirating each other and making rude gestures with there genetillia that is sick. same goes for heterosexuals too. you want to sleep with whoever, do it in private, not in public. SC, you should'nt speak of hypocrisy, you accuse people on this board of doing things you feel is wrong yet you do them yourself, labling is one i can think of right off hand.

yah, i'd have to go look for it cause it's been awhile since i last read it. maybe i'll go look later, as for now i am enjoying the posts, well most of them. anyway, one last time, i do not hate gays, they are people and deserve respect as long as they give it too. heteros must do the same to get the same. period. but anyway, johnny, i'll go look later. for now, i'm just reading as much as possible on here. ya know that afternoon dose of elite. :)

What is your basis for homosexuality being a sin? Who says God doesn't like it?

Oh He just Looooves it.... This is why he made Adam and Johnny (no Pun intended) instead of adam and eve so they could butt-fuck under the fig tree all day.

Wow, he's paraphrasing Jerry Falwell. One of your heroes?

not mine, i don't care for fallwell at all. he's abusing his medial power and influence over gullible people. he and robertson are nothing more to me than over zealous tv elvangelists.

sushi, find a new argument. On this basis, people should be ranting about heterosexuality and special rights because of what happens every night on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. We should be following every approving statement about het sex with some bullshit qualifiers about public sex.

We KNOW you don't like gay parades. Too bad. Nobody's going to make generalizations about heterosexuality on the basis of tit and dick displaying breeders on Bourbon Street -- unless they're from Mars. And, from my perspective, you are a Martian when you talk about homosexuality.

MB, did i say i agreed with everything breeders do? no, some breed just to get a welfare check and live off of our taxes. there's plenty of immoratity going on down at bourbon street, on both sides. i think public displaying of sex is wrong on any account. keep it private out of public view. as for being a martian, let me just say, "Take me to your leader." lol, sorry i had to throw it in there. you may not see it but i am really trying to show i am impartial here. my point is sex(physicall intercourse or the pleasuring of one person by another or others) should be done in private out of public view no matter what sexual preference you are. get my point, i hope so. case closed.

Case closed? I dont' think you get my point. You GENERALIZE about homosexuality. Nobody's generalizing about heterosexuality on the basis of the same behavior you enlist as an argument for you generalization about homosexuality.

You called the way 5-10 percent of the population loves an abomination. You say we can't hold religious office (better put in a really quick call to the Vatican). This is not impartial. You even enlist God as your first witness, but won't provide the transcript.

Does any of this make you homophobic? I really don't care. It's a word. It means that you stand in judgement and claim to speak for God.

Happy to close the case.

you reopened the case. do i speak for God? does the pope speak for God? no, he sits all high and mighty with god status and peopel worship him. so what he says is ok does'nt neccesarily mean anything to the rest of the religious world. same with what i said. no , i don't speak for God, he speaks for himself, i just tell you what he says. i told johnny i would look that up later and i will. i've seen to have touched a button here, MB, i don't have anything against you. maybe i did generalize but i want you to show me where.

I already showed you where. Simply re-read the thread.

I'll look forward to reading God's word on homosexuality.

Oh, and it seems, homosexuality "touches a button" with you.

My general opinion is that people should love whoever they want to love and be attracted to whoever they're attractive too. The only relationships that disgust me are abusive ones. Someone can be madly in love with a lamp for all I care and I support them if that makes them happy.

I simply will never understand why people can be so hateful towards homosexuals, bisexuals, transexuals, etc. Life would be boring if we didn't have differences.

Oh, and regarding the whole "homosexuality is a sin" BS, the bible says that all sin in equal in His eyes...even if it's just a thought. So those who hate and condemn homosexuals may as well condemn and hate all of us as none of us are without sin. That's just my 2 cents.

For the most part, I have enjoyed and agreed with your posts, but this one is pretty ignorant. Your bringing race, politics, and sexuality all into one insult. Not very bright. Not trying to be a smart ass, but you must either A) get your ass kicked quite often or B) live in a redneck town....my guess is B.

You said God considers homosexuality an "abomination." This is the basis for your "problem" with gay preachers if I'm not mistaken. That is Old Testament my friend. At least be consistent.

I Corinthians 6:9, sums it up.

know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdon of God?be not deceived:neither fornicators not idolators, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind(homosexuals, translated to modern english).

case closed.

MB, no homosexuality does'nt hit buttons until it infringes on the teachings of the bible. that is all, case closed. moving on...

yes, I can see why you'd be anxious to hurry on out of the room after making your argument dependent on that translation.

I feel rather sure, if you've read serious Biblical scholarship, you know that Paul was at most referring to the Greek system of pederasty in these famous lines (echoed in Timothy). He specifically referenced the malakoi ("effeminate boys") and an unheard of group called the arsenokoitai, thought by some to be an invention on his part, probably to describe customers of the malakoi.

The whole point of the text is that Christians who sue one another in pagan courts are no better than whores and other sinners. That is why the early courts interprented the expression "malakoi arsenokotai" as people of "soft" (related to "effeminate" in the Greek) ethics. Others read "arsenokotai" literally as gigolos, who were very common in that time.

Luther revised the meaning to be "masturbators" and now it's been revised again but those anxious for Biblical proof to mean "homosexual." There as no such word in ancient Greek, because no such animal existed. And the words specifically used to describe sex between men do not appear in the passage.

Nice try. I guess you wont' read this, having left the room, but even if you could make a case on this single passage, the history of politically correct translation sabotages you.

i'm still here. i lurk in the shadows, ya know. =)

i had a feeling you would say something like that, as i read on a website. www.religioustolerance.org. it may be .com, i can't remember for sure. you are using the liberal(it descrbies both lib and conserv views on it) interpretation. seeing as how you are offended and i did'nt mean to offend you, let's just say we won't change each others minds nor anyonelse's for that matter. so let's just call it quits here for the sake of us not liking each other. yes, i do like you cause you are a level headed person and i enjoy reading your posts even though i may not agree with everything you say. truce?

I'm not taking this personally, don't worry about that, but I'm not going to let you make a blanket statement about homosexuality and the Bible and let it pass -- for the reason that other people read this shit.

And among them are religious gay kids who have been lied to about those lines from Corinthians by backward ministers. While I might not change anyone's mind on your side, I can certainly give gay kids some ammo. There is NO uniform agreement on the interpretation of that text. EVERYONE on both sides knows that you can't just translate malakoi into "homosexuals."

And people need to understand this generally: The Bible is an interpretive translation and it's changed several times in history. Even if you went to a primitive Baptist Bible college you'd be taught this.

primitive Baptist Bible college...

lol, that was pretty good there. i'm not baptist, never claimed it either, hehe. i get your point and do appologize for my blanket statement. i think we've come to an understanding here. peace out.

btw, i sent you some karma, you'll see the thread if you check your profile.
