After calming down and relaxing for a bit, as it stands I'm not going over there. I have filed reports, taken pictures, checked the health of her, and done some soulsearching. If they come in my yard I will shoot them, if they are in the alley behind my house I will call the police, take a picture, and antagonize them to stay till witness, and if myself or even if I witness anyone else feeling threatened, no matter the place or circumstance, I will not hesitate to put the dog down myself. These people don't keep these dogs as pets but as bragging rights and status symbols. Nobody would keep their pet either chained to a tree or running around hurting people if they actually cared.

your a better man than me. lol. i'd have to go over there, it would be like a magnet. :) i am going to knock out this guy down the street who commented twice about my walking my husky. he has access to the backyard (fenced in partially at least, runs back on a canal)...so he does his business out there at anytime he wants. i walk him for fun and for exersize. so this asshole who i actually said hi to twice to be nice, comments both times "better make sure to miss my yard". next time he says anything unfounded like that, i'm gonna explain to him the situation of where my dog takes his poopy breaks...and if there are further comments his teeth will be down his throat. i too have been being level headed on the juice...it calms me down...the valium helps too. :) but some people are assholes, and as well some are a danger to others. and i need to find me a big mean black/rust dobie pincher to be with my husky (as a friend! lol)....but i want a year old or better, i have no funds or time to train another dog since my husky is 9 months old only. hard to find older dogs, most sell pups. :D and i feel bad leaving the dog alone for 4 hours i am at work sometimes...it is horrible how some people treat animals. that is one thing i will fight over any time.

Keep your dogs inside.

Allow their dogs access to your yard.

Put anti-freeze or some similiar attractant in your yard relatively near where they get through the fence from their side.

Kill dogs.

The fact that they die in your yard gives you deniability I would assume...

Don't risk a child's life...

Talk to the owners, the're responsible. Charge them for all the costs you've made.

If it's impossible to discuss this issue with them, make them clear you will defend yourself and your dogs. Don't use any poison you might hurt your own dogs. Next time the dogs come into your garden shoot them.

One issue that you need to consider is who you are dealing with.
If the owners of those dogs are that irresponsible, then there would probably be retaliation concerning your dogs. That would be my biggest fear. I would not shoot them or poisen them. I would figure out how to have them secretly abducted and taken to another city where they are then taken to an animal shelter, given to them with a warning and let them deal with it at that point. No evidence, the dogs were stolen, which happens a lot when dogs are free to run around. There would be no proof and the owners will accept that something happened to their animals, they just won't know what.

I would head to the nearest fleet famr or equivelent and get myself a nice cattle prod and if his dogs ever came within reach I would let em have it laughing the whole while the dog did the croppy flop on the street. If it got up and acted agressive once again I would tag it again...and again if needed. Sooner or later it will get the hint you are the alpha male since that is likely all that is needed.

I like the idea of setting up a cam and taping but you never know when it will occur.

I'd personally keep a loaded gun ready at all times. Next time they enter your yard you walk over and shoot it. Problem solved.

Don't go throwing poison over the fence cause they'll do the same thing to you.

But like the cop said keep documentation on everything.

I would talk to the neighbors first. I would then keep a baseball bat handy and kill the pits when necessary. I had trouble with a neighbor who had a nasty pit. I have two young chiildren who often play in our yard with our three year old english bulldog. My bulldog is not aggressive at all, and acts somewhat cowardly. One day the pitbull bitch had once agin broken her chain, and was running loose, she came running into our yard growling and barking at either the kids or the dog or both. Our bulldog had never been in a fight before but he headed off the pitbull and and had her down in a second, this surprised me because of my dog's personality. But my bulldog weighs over eighty pounds and was nearly twice the weight of the pitbull so he was winning the fight, but that fucking pitbull kept fighting untill I started beating it with a shovel. No harm to my dog or kids, I filed a police report, nothing was really done the pitbull required treatment my dog didn't. My neighbors are drunks and losers, but I did talk to them and told them that I will kill their dog if it ever enters my yard agin. I keep a metal baseball bat handy, for when I may need it. I own fire arms but I think that would give me more problems than not. Maybe the talk did do some good because I havn't seen that bitch in a few months now. Good luck, your situation does not sound like it will get better, I lke Great Danes their big friendly dogs similiar to bulldogs in their pearsonalty.:) I don't like mean aggresive dogs, or people that own such animals.

I hate those fucking dogs. They should be illegal. It's comparable to owning a cougar or any other wild, vicious animal. Anyone who owns a pitbull does so to intimidate people -- always.

Personally I don't see it as a moral issue. They're animals. Hell, if a human was a threat to hurt me or my family I'd have no problem with killing him. It's getting caught that I'd be worried about.

I carry a gun on a consistent basis so I know what I would have done. If you don't have one I would suggest getting one. I had this same type of "incident" happen to me about 2 years ago when my neighbors pit came through my fence into my yard. I was armed and it was just me in the yard. The dog was on a chain (but it was about 20 ft. long) so it was able to charge half way through my yard. It was one of only 2 times I have pulled that gun out.
