Olive Oil

Okay, OBVIOUSLY, fried food is bad. But u r supposed to have A LITTLE olive oil on your salad or what not. Can I forget that, (Because I don't like it, I like just plain balsamic vineager), and take my chicken breast, coat it in egg whites and whole wheat bread crumbs, and fry it in a couple of table spoons of olive oil?? What's the difference.

not all fat is bad.......just enough to ass to a salad will not wreck your diet....unlessits a really piss-poor one

Right, so if i "fried" my fish or chicken in a couple of tablespoons of olive oil once in a while, it would be okay, right? And no, I don't have a "piss-poor" diet, not perfect, but not "piss-poor" lol

You know, you can Oven-Fry your fish/chicken without having to cook it in oil..... While that's not horrible to do, why not save the cals & fat to use elsewhere?? I mean, why spend all your fat cals on a "fried" piece of fish, etc??

If you don't already have one, check out your local kitchen store. They should carry a pan with a raised lip (like a jelly roll pan -- large baking sheet with a lip) and a teflon-coated rack that fits into it. Usually sold as a set for under $20.

Dip your fish/chicken in the egg mixture then in the dry mix & place on top of the rack & bake. Baking it on top of the rack will allow the hot air to get underneath it, allowing it to bake crisp & not get soggy. Also try Panko bread crumbs -- you should be able to find them in the bread crumb section.

I think that would be fine.....

The properties in the oil change when its used for frying (when it reaches a certain temperature) and so it does lose some of its benefits. Canola is lower than olive oil in saturated fat if your gonna use it to fry. I wouldnt worry too much about frying every now and again but I wouldnt make it my 1st choice of cooking either

I use egg beaters... soy flour and wheat bran for my mixture SPRINKLE just a little
romano cheese AND WOW IS THAT GOOD!
FRYING with good oil once in awhile will not hurt .. just use a tablespoon and eliminate
your flax oil that day..
