New Police Tactic? Bros Read This!

When i came home from work last night, there was a note on my door from my manager telling me the police had been in my house. Some how, 911 was "called" from my apartment 2 hours after i left for work. No one lives here but me, so wtf? Apparently the police had to "check to make sure no one was hurt in my house". They said that sometimes "Computers call 911 on mistake" How the fuck could my comp dial 911 by itself?
I felt lucky i had no gear in the house...it doesnt appear they searched for anything...
lol, i even had this wep page up but the moniter was off.

So, how and why did they come check on me? Is this a new tactic to catch steroid users? In such a situation, without a warrent, can they seize any gear they find?

Be careful guys...keep your shit hidden real well, you never know if police might come to your house responding to a "911 emergency".

Hey, bro, I just called my cousin who is a very famous lawyer in the states. He told me that you got a HUGE!! lawsuit on hand. You lease, or you own, they invaded your property, and all you have to do is get a trace of all the calls made. YOU CAN GET BIG BUCKS!!! Consider this, 911 was called, if it there was no response on the other end (calling party) then it is an open 911 call and deemed of high importance. They did not enter your premises to harass you or take advantage of you they were ensuring that no one from within the apt was in need of emergency services.

Suppose for a minute, you had been home, you called 911 and were unable to respond to the operator (say you had a stroke or had fallen and hit your had and were unable to speak. Or your place had been invaded by a bad guy and you managed to get the call off but were unable to talk because of the intruder.

What would you do if they never came? If they did they did not investigate further?

You see I was a Deputy Sheriff and it is a catch 22 damned if you do, damned if you don't. So, remember that. I don't believe you have any lawsuit. They did what they did in good faith. Leave it at that.

Also, this should be on the chat board. If you feel it should not be there, pm me and I will move it to the Anabolic board at best. But this has nothing to do with counterfit gear.

That 911 calling from a comp is BS, and you really do have a lawsuit if they did indeed enter your home, does it accually look like they were in there? was the door broken down?? how the hell did they get in?

Sorry, but he does not have a lawsuit. Period. l can tell you how far it will go. Right into the circular basket. You all are paying for their protection of you and your property. I suppose while your place is being ransacked and your girl is being raped, because you didn't call, you are not home, they should not enter your premises and intervene.

And yes, computers using fax/modem/voice boards and software can make random phone number calls. I have had many a false 911, and always made it a point to go by and look into any window I found and if the door was open or unlocked, I would check the premeises and then secure it if nothing was found amiss.

Quit being so paranoid. They did their job and would not risk a lawsuit or losing a case from improper use of authority and violating someones civil rights.

Mebbe some of you should stop and think about what would have happened if this call was actually real. Would you still say the police shouldnt have entered? Or are they meant to just know whether the call is real or not?

Also note that the original poster said that they didnt appear to search for anything. So I doubt that this is some new tactic to catch users.

BTW what happens to the law suit when the trace of calls shows that the original call was spurious call from his computer?

fucking cops are always abusing their power. If it wasnt for cops always trying to be the heros, then OJ would be in lock down for some serious time. Instead, a cop sees a blood spot the size of a dime and climbs a ten foot wall trying to be supercop.

I could not tell you if you have a lawsuit or not but you may want to check with an attorney to be sure so you do not shoot yourself in the foot! If the police had seen anything lying out that was ILLEGAL they could of charged you with it because it was in plain view.I remember a case like this where a 911 call was made from a home and the police responded and searched the premises and found a huge "HYDROPONIC" GANJA FARM in the home. The owner was charged with intent to distribute and endangering a minor because the kids lived in the home with the parents and the amount of weed that was on hand. Imagine you had a large quantity of gear on hand , well those are narcotics to the police so you would be in deep shit and possible distribution charges also. BE CAREFUL.......... Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe not. Maybe they were trying to set you up. Maybe not.
