Neighbor issue: let's crowdsource a solution / murder plot

Synopsis of issue and situation:

I live in a pretty nice neighborhood. Nothing too high-end, but safe and friendly. Mostly an older generation neighborhood (traditional Italian types, jnevin and ortizle). All my immediate neighbors are cool and pretty quiet / chill. Across the street is an old Italian couple (the Squizzero's, both early 80's). When I first moved in a year ago, the maildude warned me about their son. He's probably mid-40's and still lives with them. It's obvious that he's got some drug issues. He doesn't drive and is always walking up the street and back (most likely to meet his dealer so his parents don't see him doing it at the house). He's actually a really nice dude and is super cordial to me and everyone here. Even cuts the neighbor's lawn for them sometimes.

Now, his father passed away a few weeks ago. And moms isn't doing too well (saw an ambulance there the other day). Druggie Assface is already getting bolder - watched him do two deals directly in front of his / my house yesterday (walked up to a car and exchanged money / baggy). Assuming moms passes away soon and Jagoff gets the house, I can't have drug deals goin down like that. Lowers my property value. Need some ideas here. Ratting him out is NOT an option. A few thoughts:

- I have some very close friends who are cops. Off the record, could have them fuck with him a bit.
- I could just ragingly blow up his spot. When the drug car pulls up and he runs out of the house to meet the driver, I could just walk outside and scream (in a nerdy, white guy voice) "Hey guys!!! Whatcha got there?!!!!"
- Murder him

I obviously don't understand the dangers because I would already have ratted him out.

Ha. It's not about danger. Ratting isn't something I would do.

(and for the record, cops don't give a shit about some scumbag living in a decent white person neighborhood buying dime bags)

Seriously.

You let this slide then next week there will be crack pipe hittin' bliques squatting in your apartment & the constant drone of police sirens, handguns going off & couples having blazing rows as your audio backdrop.

I guess that is the good thing about living where I do. Every neighbor would have already called the police and he would be looking at the slammer now.

I have no qualms about ratting out some drug dealing piece of shit. To delay will cause you much bigger pain than you just listed. Wait until you have kids and they are put in harms ways due to his actions.

If the cops dont care whats the problem bor
I dont see how your property value is affected if there are no crime reports added to the area, since the cops dont care.
Why is snitching not an option, this isnt an episode of teh sopranos, its real

If I had kids, my approach would probably be different. Also, if I had a 15 inch cock, I'd probably be more confident. But since neither is reality, I'll have to play the cards I've been dealt.

Ratting just isn't something I'm interested in right now. And again, a white dude buying dime bags out his parent's house with no other complaints isn't really a priority for cops.

Look, now that revealed you don't have a 15" cock, I realize I am never going to relate to your circumstances. Carry on.

You're spending too much time thinking about your neighbors are doing. Mind your own business. If his business doesn't slop over onto your business, everything is kopasetic. Your business stops when you step over your property line, same for him.

While you don't approve of what he's doing, if you don't look at him, you won't see it. People don't like the fact I'm a wiccan. Nobody is telling them to come through my front door or step onto my property.

one must consider this is coming from a lady that lives in the country and always has some potions brewing in a pot over a fire.

Gotta disagree here (shocking, I know!). A) I've spent maybe 27 minutes total on all this, so there's that. B) So you obviously don't believe that property value is affected by anything outside your own actual property?! So let's say I'm trying to sell my house and a prospective buyer comes by and sees jagoff doing a drug deal. That's not my business?! That doesn't affect me?!

This is my issue. I don't care what he does with his life, but there is a clear issue here that could potentially affect me tremendously in the future.

Fuck YO Neighbors

A whole street of homeowners calling the cops makes them care.

I'd just approach the dude next time he's outside and tell him I know what's up and it's not cool. I don't want to see you scoring shit ever again on this street or I'm going to have to let the other neighbors know what's going down.

You don't have to do a thing but sit & wait. He'll lose that house faster than you can say Mississippi. Anyone who doesn't work, and has a drug issue, cannot keep any property. If he gets some cash inheritance with the house, his drug problem will get worse overnight, and he'll either die, or get busted. If there isn't much cash, he'll go through it right away, and won't be able to pay the property tax (or worse, won't be able to pay the mortgage if the elderly couple still had one). How do I know? Simple... You said a very important thing which guarantees it: He got bolder as soon as the Dad passed away. This is a textbook classic case.

are you selling your house? are your neighbors selling their house? if not I guess your property value isn't a real issue

what kind of drugs are we talkin here? anything thats going to bring violence?

I guess ignoring it or talkin to cop buddies would be the way to go...all of my cop friends would've taken turns driving down the street and glaring at the guy to curb his new found boldness..win/win . No outward snitching gettin the dude arrested over dime bags and you get the guy to go back to bein quiet about it

also, talkin to the guy is probably a fabulously bad way to go.
I'm thinkin that would just have every dealer within a 10 miles radius keepin an eye on YOU and blaming you for every time one of em gets narcd out

this is pretty solid ^^^^

friend of mine had a raging coke habit, he inherited his fathers house and a half a million dollars
house wasn't quite paid for and the house was a big bucks lake house
it took him like under 2 yrs to lose the house

he wised up, got into rehab, took what was left of what he had for money and bought a small house where he quietly smokes weed in the woods and bothers no one, unless its motorcports related anyway :)

if he gets in financial trouble he might break in to neighbor's homes to score cash or stuff to sell for cash, I would not confront him and would try for him NOT to find out I know, last thing I need is a junkie with bad people connections knowing I might rat him out, which is shy I would rat him out in a heart beat, you can also take down the license plate of the dealer and rat him out, get rid of the source

Charles is right. he will lose the house eventually .. will take some time. his parents pay all the bills now. he has no money i betcha.. once his mom is gone he will blow through the inheritance and be left with nothing.

in the meantime just avoid him. you dont want to get involved with drug dealing there is no upside for you.

Oh, you have no idea how I fucking wish that were the truth. I live at what I call the corner of State and Main in a HIGHLY urbanized suburban area. I have NO privacy and it's so fucking noisy I can't keep my windows open at night.

See, I'm in a situation where I'm seriously considering that to get out of this neighborhood and move to another part of the country my husband and I might have to abandon our house, I can't get too worked up. You have to have been really fucked in the ass by real estate to get as jaded as I am over shit like this (besides, I'd take one druggie over a church full of fucking Jehovah's Witnesses who completely block up the street three times a week).

I bought a house 20 years ago. Now my neighbors, who have improved/renovated houses, are incapable of selling said houses for $15,000 more than my property was listed for back when I bought it. Real estate is a gamble, just like any other speculative investment. Hense my philosohy, real estate and reproduction are both highly over-rated.

Seriously, you don't need to worry about this. What KX250 said is what will happen. Mom will croak, then druggie will come into inheritance and it will all go up his nose, into his arm or whatever. Odds are, he'll sell the house and use the money to move somewhere cheaper and more convenient to his drugs of choice and party his brains out on the proceeds.

If he keeps the house, he might OD. Worst comes to worst, you'll have to wait until he runs out of money and the house is either foreclosed on or goes up for sheriff's sale because he doesn't have enough neurons firing to remember to pay his bills and taxes.

Look, you said he's a halfway decent guy sober, wait until you next see him engaged in this activity, and take a picture of it. Then go tell him to keep his personal business out of public eye as you hand him the photo. Really want to be effective? Get a couple of the neighbors to go over with you as you convey the message.

If it really burns your ass, get over the whole "I don't squeal" thing. That shit only flies when it's people you've made a committment to, people you have some responsibility to. You made no promises to this man, you owe him no loyalties.

But he says he doesn't want to snitch. He thinks he's blaque, got street rules to honor and lives in south central.

Then he should just live with it or move.

If u ain't gonna rat him out byu leaving a ananoymojus message on crime stoppers.

then you shojudl just deal with it. Since all your other suggestions are uber geigh and not even serious. Stay in your house and live yhoyur life.

yep!
your trying to sell ur house right now? if not, just chill. He's not up on your business so you should do the same for him.

If you sense danger to your person or loved ones, then let cops come and do their job. I don't understand why such an action is not an option for you:confused:

this.

something like "my nephew/cousin/parents live on this block, and i don't want to see any more drug dealers stopping here. i don't care what you do, just not on this block"

.

I've seriously thought about abandoning my house I've lost so much $$$$$$$$$$ I'll never recover - plus I really just need to move out of this house...and I cant. Its driving me crazy.

I have the same type of douche who does the same thing out of his parents house down the street from me. Its annoying to say the least. All the shady people stopping by, different cars all the time... oh well. What do you do

I worked it out. I've paid more than three times the purchase price of this house over the years and we're hoping that when/if we sell we won't owe the mortgage company anything.

I already checked it with my lawyer, they can't take away our credit cards if we walk away. Shit I'd really rather not do that. I have a real fear of not being able to sell at all, though. I have neighbors that have already walked.

But I refuse to die in this g'damned neighborhood.

But i thought home ownership was the "cornerstone of financial security" or something like that.

I pay $365/mo in rent for a two bedroom, live in a nice part of town in decent apartment, got an awesome roommate who gives me zero shit to put up with, and if anything goes wrong with the apartment it gets fixed free of charge.

kb's neighbor after being confronted by him

3. Murderize him after his mother dies. Deaths come in threes, no one would be the wiser.

I'm going to suggest the complete opposite. I think you should introduce him to teh interwebs as an unlimited supply source. You could even convince him to start selling if he's not already (sounds like he is?). Just convince him that online is safer.

If you noticed, surely other neighbors have too. It's only a matter of time before the cops are onto him. You like him as a neighbor because he's civil to you and doesn't upset the neighborhood, so you want to see him continue to live there peacefully.

Teh interwebs is teh answer! Plus, if you got him into dealing (online of course) you could help him establish his own financial future. Maybe all he needs is someone to believe in him? Encourage him bor.

So is it safe to assume you are completely against drugs? Does this mean you are a pro drug war kinda guy?

tell him you're a cop.

then tell him you thought you recognized a few of his friends who stopped by to see him. say, "eh, i could be wrong though. I'll have to get a better look."
then wink, check out his wiener, and walk away.

if yur neighbor is makin any kind of change, id be all over it and the kid wouldnt have a fuckin clue either. i kind of wish i had a neighbor like this.
