Need some kick ass vacation recomendations

how bad are the passports backed up? I had to renew mine in December and it took 4-6 weeks expedited.

Honduras looks good, but Thailand is great.

I've heard up to 6 months for new ones..
So bad that now, all you need to do is show proof that you have requested it, and they let you go with a Birth Certificate and DL to some locations.

Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands would be nice if you don't already have your passport, as that process is backed up more than the toilets at a Cheese festival

I heard you need a passport to go to either of these now as well. Dunno if that's true or not, though.

a couple buddies and i are looking to hit up a vacation for a week or so in nov/dec of this year.

we are mid 20's bachelors

looking for:

women
nice weather/beaches
women
bars
affordable
clubs
women
other cool stuff like scuba? fishing?

some guys at work suggested costa rica. said its real cheap. i just question since it seems like the city is 2 hours or so away from the beaches from what i can gather.

a cruise might be cool but that seems couples and family oriented to me. plus our kinda stuck with whoever your on the boat with.

any ideas?

Do I need a passport if I'm flying within the United States, for example from Puerto Rico to New York?

Domestic travel within the United States does not require the presentation of a passport.

The passport requirement does NOT apply to U.S. citizens traveling to or returning directly from a U.S. territory.

U.S. citizens returning directly from a U.S. territory are not considered to have left the United States and do not need to present a passport. U.S. territories include the following: Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
