Well those fucking bastards at customs siezed some of my favorite ginger ale at the border. They we're kind enough to send the package empty with a letter though. Any one have any advice on what to do next?

Whatever you do. Do not reply to the letter claiming the gear. Believe it or not I know of a dumbass that did this and ended up spending 6 months in jail. Throw it away and kiss it good-by. Nothing you can do accept order from somewhere else as stated before by Tx Rugby.

It said:

" This shipment contained item(s) that wer determined to be an illegal importation. The U.S. Customs Service has the responsibilty to intercept and sieze illegal items when they are attempted to be brought into the United States by any means. Accordingly the item(s) were removed and seized by the U.S. Customs Service. The remaining items in this shipment are being forwarded to you as they are not considered to be an importation contrary to U.S. customs and/or related laws. "

They also left a case number if I wanted to inqurie about the siezed items, yea right! I got an empty package and a letter that's it, fuck em!

ye,...thats the same letter everybody gets. i got one for trying to import GBL...
wonder if you get that letter for trying to import a kilo of coke???...lol

Bros, I suggest that whenever having a package being sent to you from overseas, make sure that the TOTAL PACKAGE weighs less then 16 ounces. Any package from overseas that weighs 16 ounces or more is already put into a more scrutinzed category of packages then those under 16 ounces. Remember: Many small deliveries are better then one big delivery.

I couldn't agree more. I am curious, though, where did that number (16oz) come from?

Standard U.S. Customs "hightened alert" number. Anything more that weighs 16 or more ounces gets put into a heightened alert category, thus it will get a more thorought screening, and possible search. If you bros read the U.S. Customs own guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures, which have been made available to the public through the Freedom of Information Act, it clearly states those numbers.
