as long as she is working and not a dumb shit, have the women do something that brings in more $$$ i dont ppl work at IHOP like some low paying jobs (golf course, free golf, or things related to that)

maybe she makes decent cash working that shift or like someone else said maybe she stays at home with her child during the day.
additionally, there does seem to be some stigma related to working as a waitress and i am guilty of it myself, even though i waitress as a part-time 2nd job. i always seem to want to clarify for customers i meet that i only waitress for fun and for extra cash and that i actually have a college degree and a "real job". i dont know why i feel compelled to let people know that possibly im worried they might not think as much of me if i was purely a waitress at a sports bar?

IMO, @ least she is working and not standing in a welfare line somewhere. Let's face it 9pm to 5am is not the easiest shift to pull 6 days a week. I usually tip good when I see someone willing to work hard and not go stand in line for a hand out.

Sure seems like she has a kid and works that shift due to it. During the day she stays home with the kid while the husband/boyfriend is working. Spends a few hours with him and leaves for work to bring some cash into the home.
