hopefully this will show you how big someof the throws can really be

it will also show you how quick a judo match can end with just a minor mistake or a small looking trip

in judo if you are thrown mostly on your back with some force it can end the match right there..

if anyone takes the time to watch some of these please comment.. dont hold back either.. just give honest opinions..

Some of these throws look very much like Wrestling moves with some changes to the foot work. A lot of this stuff you learn in your first 2-3yrs of wrestling.

I can see the Gi makes a HUGE difference...

If there would ever be such thing as no-Gi Judo it would be called "Greco Roman Wrestling"

can you get wins based off of a takedown like in amatuer wrestling you get points
and what if you do a toss and they land on their side do you get a half point or nothing?

well one good take down can end it.. like a solid double leg, single leg, firemans, inside trips, suplexes all of those could end a match if there was adequate power,control and he landed mainly on his back

if they turn towards there sides or the power or control starts to lack then the score goes down to a half, quarter or eight of a point.. like if there butt hits..

half points are the only points that add up.. so 2 decent throws can end it or one half point throw and a 20 sec pin would end it.. or if you pin the guy once for 20 secs and then again for 20 secs you win.. but 50 quarter points dont add up and one half point score would beat a guy who had 20 quarter points..

why add quarter points if they don't add up?
are they used as a tiebreaker
like if someone had a half and a quarter and the other guy had a half is it a tie or a win for the guy with the extra quarter?
