According to a 1992 survey at the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago, out of 3,432 adults between the ages of 18 and 59 years of age:
90% of men surveyed and
94% of women surveyed
felt that sex was "always wrong" or "almost always wrong."
Out of this same group:
25% of the men had been unfaithful and
17% of the women had been unfaithful
When applied to today's population, these ratios "mean that some 19 million American men and 12 million American women have entwined at least once outside the marriage bed."*
