Luckily we don't have this problem anywhere else in the US.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Maine's blunt-speaking governor is again creating a ruckus with his off-hand remarks — this time by calling state government middle managers "corrupt."
At a public town hall-style meeting in Newport on Thursday night, Gov. Paul LePage told the crowd that state government is too big and too costly, and that the state's workforce is part of the problem.
LePage went on to say that "middle management of the state is about as corrupt as can be."
Maine State Employees Association President Ginette Rivard called LePage's comments "baseless and insulting" to all public workers.
Since taking office last year, LePage has rankled various constituencies with remarks about labor unions, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the president.

Govermnent exists to serve itself and grow. The goverment has no competition and no incentive or reason to reduce itself or become more efficient

Lots of mean-spirited conservatives up on this thread.

What about the children??? Think about the children!!!!

It's always interesting for calls to cut the government. The question is...what do you cut? For every choice, there's a sob story against it.

However, having the governor call the middle managers as corrupt as can be is a "play to the crowd" generalization. Expected, but disappointing when life is portrayed as black and white.

It's like when someone calls women stupid or makes racial comments. Not quite the same degree, but the generalization is obvious.

The post office alone lost 10 billion dollars.
10 fucking billion dollars...
Ups and FedEx are MAKING millions of dollars.
The post office is a microcosm of the whole system.
Ron Paul gets it, the others do not.
The one guy that would probably do a better job of the 2 really left would be Romney, but since he is in bed with the defense spending (offense spending) he is actually the worst choice.
OBama will be re-elected I am guessing. 4 more years :(

-250B from Defense
-300B from Medicare/Medicaid
-250B from Social Security
-71B eliminate Dept of Education
-17.5 (50%) cut to Dept of Energy
-75B (50%) cut to Dept of Agriculture
...

I could put is at least $200B in the black even in this shitty Obama economy.

The Post office doesn't cost Taxpayer ANYTHING.

You'd lose too if you charged 45¢ to deliver a letter to a rural house in the middle of India. (Most of the United states is Rural btw.)
Although they have ran efficient enough to do so and stay profitable prior to my next statement.

Post office is going broke because of Legislation that is forcing them to pay 75 years into the futures retirement plan in a 10 Year stretch.

Name me a company that does this and remains above water.
