Just had someones car towed. Am I an asshole?

Wife and I moved into our new condo on Friday. Things going well.

I believe we are the first to ever occupy this unit, and as such parking space #3 in our garage hasnt been officially utilized since we moved in. Over the past few days, every now and then we've come home to a car parked in our spot. Normally it's no big deal as we'll go out and run an errand for 30 minutes, come back, and the car will be gone.

Today, though, is different. Left for the gym at 1, got back at 2:15 and a car was there. Paid to park on the street in front. Went back down at 3:45, car was still there. Had to feed the meter. Its now 5:10 and the tow truck just arrived. I ran into a neighbor while I was letting the truck in, and he said that this particular car has parked in his spot before too.

Felt conflicted about this. On the one hand, I hate having my car towed. On the other, I dont illegally park at a 32 unit condo development.

Best part is that the tow truck keeps breaking down, and the driver said he may have to call an additional tow truck for him. He's just sitting with the offending car attached to his truck in my garage right now.

Perhaps a sign of some kind that identifys the space belonging to you is appropriate. A number?
Seems like it was a different car several times.
I do appreciate your feelings about calling in the tow truck.

personally, i would've left a note the first time i saw the car to tell him I just moved in and will be needing by spot. but w/e

I did leave a note because I figured if someone parked illegally they wouldnt hang around too long.

2 and a half hours later I said fuck it...Im tired of feeding the meter outside.
