If you do however get to a pt where you body just can't function then you need to listen. No comp ever is worth risking your health.

Listen, Can you get intouch with Fred at all?

If your body is near falling out then you need to put something in it... Broccoli, low cals and carbs and won't hurt you at all.

I know that you want to do all he say's but you have to be intune with you also. Be healthy Lift healthy Eat smart.

I think you should eat a little..

Your cals dropped overnight by half... thats alot for the body to get used to. No time to taper off at all. Something clean won't hurt your progress as long as you aren't overdoing it..
 
I'm sort of annoyed at this guy for leaving you with no support during an extreme diet change. He's got to know the impact of the cals.

Jen, load up on some veggies. It will help. Honestly I dont think some potatoe or something will hurt either - you are still 1 1/2 weeks out. If not potato, can you put in more fish or steak in for a meal to help tide over for some energy.

I know you've mentioned the "stupid in the head" feeling -- but this was more than that -- driving to the grocery/dollar store ate up what little I had in me. I even did my morning cardio light - just walking.

I left him a message - dunno if he will respond. I ended up having 1 cup of green beans + 1 tsp. Grapeseed Oil + 1 Turkey Burger. Feel a little better but not better enough to be able to go to the gym & lift. So, I'm forced to skip the gym tonite.

In my message I told him it's either follow this meal plan or workout + add a meal or two....can't do both - what's your preference??
 
Jen, not to just beat a dead horse here, but when you hire a trainer for competition, you hire a trainer, a nutritionist, a mentor, a sounding board and a mommy. If this person is not there for you when he KNOWS the diet he's putting you on is going to leave you starved for resources, then he's a piece of shit.

You are beyond carb depleted, you are obviously starved period. I'm not even sure what I'd recommend here because I just don't understand what he's trying to accomplish w/ this sequence of reductions & increases. I'd be looking to change the whole thing. To be really honest, and I'm just stating this as my own opinion, I also wouldn't put you through this to force your water, etc. down for this show but rather prepare you for the next one because you are going to need some time to come out of this show as well.

I hope the guy responds ASAP. Otherwise I'd keep some clean carbs around me and run on a carb cycle schedule so you aren't completely worthless for the next week.

Having the turkey burger + 1 cup of green beans + 1 tsp. of grapeseed oil really helped. I was able to do my jump roping last nite. Did my 55 mins of am cardio this morning -- brisk walk around the Riverfront.

Also felt way better today. So! Was it the starved state + day 1 of my "." in combination? Hmmmm.....

He DID call me back today. Said to add 1 tblsp. of flax oil to meal 3 today. I may have the turkey burger + green beans again today as meal 4 again.....He also said that if it happens again (the way I felt) then to add in some MCT oil - whatever that is.....


LOL Talking about stories! I practiced my posing at the gym in the aerobics room in the 1 suit I got off Diva..... Talk about a small crowd gathering!! All these guys kept finding excuses to walk in there (IMO) to get a drink (the room is near the racquetball courts), stretch, do abs, etc.... :rolleyes:

Next time I'm charging admission!!

MCT oil is found in Virgin Coconut oil, I take that stuff everyday...

Well, I survived my 3 days of hell!! Yay!!

I'm finding it very interesting (sometimes frustrating) how often my body is changing now....it changes daily - sometimes several times during the day.....it's an interesting process -- who knew??

Someone on the OCB message board is holding a posing class at his gym in Owings Mills, MD this Sunday -- I may have to drive the 2 hours each way for it.....I think it would help me since that part is where I'm severely lacking....

I add in Dandelion root today (2 tabs with each meal) and drop the water to 1 gallon, so it will be interesting to see what this does..... I kinda dislike taking all these pills/supps.....Dry mouth continues to plague me....

I really can't wait till tomorrow's food - I get ANPB!! Yayyyy!!!
 
Whew!! It's very very hard to lift these days.....Feeling very weak these days.....I either need help or need to lower my weights.....
 
At this point obviously you aren't lifting to build muscle but rather just to burn out the remaining glycogen. Just keep lifting!

Sass -- when do I stop lifting?? Or I don't? Today is leg day, then I don't lift again till Mon & Tues. So on Mon/Tues -- should I be using machines/cables or just go with the usual & just what I can do??

I know you've heard this before, but there are a few ways to do it. Some people lift right up until the day before the show, some people stop a few days before.

What I did the last week was a circuit training on my deplete days, the weight was light :worried: cause it's impossible to lift heavy when you are so depleted. I did the circuit training over and over until I just couldn't do anymore, I think I was able to do it 3 times. And I stopped training altogether (weights and cardio) when I started carb loading. That was the first show.


The 2nd show, because I didn't deplete for it, I just kept doing my weights and cardio until I started loading.

Usually during the last week you switch over to cables or circuit training. For my trainer's clients, we go to full body circuit training and jack up our reps to 100 per set. The point is to just burn out all the glycogen to optimize your carb deplete & carb up.

Jen - to the point of how are you supposed to train while you are exhausted & depleted -- i'd say do the reps / sets he says but drop the weight if you can't lift it. Like I said - you aren't eating to support any muscle growth at this point so forget about trying to increase muscle right now. That's absolutely not the goal anymore. You just want to burn out all the excess, so complete your sets -- dont' stop to rest in the middle of a set -- just drop the weights.

throw it in the garbage, then carry out to the street and give it to the garbage truck!! I have to do that or don't buy it all. It might be easier just to not have it in your reach this close to your comp.
 
If I don't see it all the time - I don't think about it, so having it packed right now with all my show stuff is keeping it 'out of sight out of mind.'

It's weird tho, how ANPB is the one thing I crave....nothing else really....

yep, I like almond butter to, almost ranks up w/natty p-butter. I'm soo black and white, either its the whole jar or none at all.

Went to a contest seminar/posing class today in Owings Mills, MD. Learned how to pose for the OCB Federation. The guy who held the class commented that I am right on track physique-wise. That's good news!

The figure pro who taught the posing said I did well. I need to practice a lot this week!!

OK - I ate my last bit of broccoli today at 5:30pm. I'm cutting it out as it bloats my lower tummy like a lil Buddha. It's kinda cute in a way......naaaah!! LOL Going for all green beans/asparagus/spinach tomorrow to see what happens...

VERY low calorie again tomorrow & Tues......

Starting adding salt to my food today - well was supposed to at all meals but forgot to for the 1st three and forgot to pack it in my cooler... *sigh* It actually makes my food taste different!

Continuing my exfoliation, but have stopped moisturizing....
 
I GOT MY SUITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!

They are a cobalt blue with lots of crystals....so they are very sparkly. However - I think the cups are too big or well, erm, my boobs are too small. The suit I bought off DivaExchange had pads glued into them which I cut/tore out & saved. Stuck them in & the suit looks better IMO.....so I may use them or go out & buy some bra inserts.....

And I will have my hubby take pics!!

Tomorrow is low carb still but high fat & Friday I carb up a little.....

Still have a lot to do & I wish I was leaner.....but I'm looking forward to getting this warm-up show under my belt....

JC, you have come SO FAR... even back when I first started posting or started the "Project" (easiest way to reference it)... your physical transformation is simply wonderful, esp. from the Jens you described to me in ATL... you have grown so much, come so far and are a huge asset to this board. I am truly sorry I cannot make it to you show because I would absolutely love to give you a huge hug and congratulate you. Of course I would love to see you walk in those heels and I’d purposely wear white…gotta have your Pro Tan smear off on me, maybe even giving me the appearance of your suit top & the ‘girls’ hahahaha.. :rainbow:

Got a call tonite from my suit maker to check on me, etc.....LOL - funny story - I got to meet Amy the other day (another girl Fred trains - she won the June show here) and she had her suits made by my maker and her suits weren't delivered until the DAY OF THE SHOW AT THE VENUE!! OMG I'd of freaked.... :google:
 
Good luck. Try not to look at the faces in the crowd when you go out there for the first time you will be less nervous looking at the lights. Don't forget to smile and have fun out there!
 
Well I couldn't sleep - it's 4am now.....my mind kept coming up with stupid "little" things to do.....Well at least I'm up & will be able to get down to see Fred & get it over with quickly & get home & pack up the coolers.....

I put my rollers in my hair to see how it turns out..... about 3pm will be time to eat again - then a set of White Strips, then I have to get in touch with the promoter to schedule my checkin & drug test + pay some fees....

OK - first show is done! I made it & the earth didn't explode.....

My trainer is done.....I can't believe he abandoned me like that & even tho I was warned he may not show - he could have called. Outta here!

I've got 4 weeks till my next show. I ate a TON of crap food Sat nite/Sunday & I'm using Fred's diet from early August for now until I figure out what to do next.....

Once the results are up on the OCB website, I'll post them.....

I called another gym today & they have a woman who does contest prep - going to go see her tomorrow.

Don't feel bad about mising your cardio this morning, your body needs a little break. Keep your diet tight, and get back to the cardio when you feel rested (a day or 2)

Fred just called me!!!!!!! HAH!!

Asked how I did...told him...said I didn't hear from you so I figured everything went well. Told him I didn't call him cuz I got pissed off. He said "What do you mean?" Told him that since he coudn't be bothered to call me (when he said he would) then I wasn't going to call him. So he says "I had to go out of town cuz a cousin I am very close to got severely ill and might not have made it." I said while I'm very sorry to hear that but I don't have ESP and since you didn't tell me what was going on how was I supposed to know?"

So (with a bit of a 'tude) he says "With all my coaches I called them if I had a problem or a concern & we discussed it by phone" Every time I've called him I get a machine so if he's by someone's deathbed like he's going to answer his phone. :rolleyes: And without seeing the person what is he going to suggest? *In best Napoleon Dynamite voice - Idiot!* I told him "Well I guess I was expecting more hands on attention." He says Whatever - Then he says "Will I see you tomorrow?" I said we were scheduled for Wednesday & I would let him know.

Here's my take on it - -if you have a cash value relationship w/ someone where you are not on specific "response hours", you are "on call" and its part of the job to notify the people who depend on you. Period. That's why they call it a Business Relationship.

Well, I'm sorry to hear he has a close family member who's so very sick BUT he should have told me that Friday.....THEN - regardless - he couldn't take 5 FLIPPIN MINUTES to call me on Saturday?? When people depend on you - it's your responsibility to take care of bidness......

Well, I completely fell off the diet-wagon tonite....had some ANPB & cupcakes.... *sigh*

I need to get a new plan so I can get back on track.....I feel like I'm in a rowboat without a paddle - feel kinda lost right now...
