We have a glute press but they call it the rocket and it works GRRREAT!!!! Sounding like Tony the tiger.

A little weird. Plus there was a guy doing sit ups in the aerobics room - so I didnt' have it all to myself. Oh well, did it anyways....I'm a little wobbly, but I'm going to wear them around the house too.

Good idea. The more you wear them the better you will do. I have a pair of 7" steledo's I love them but they took a minute to adjust to. LOL

Dang.......I can't imagine 7" heels.... :worried:

These 5" -ers are pretty high....I do better on the carpet with them...need to go to the kictchen more...

Once you get use to the 5" the 7" is nothing to adjust to. Not to mention they are great for the calves. LOL

Saw Fred - LBM stayed the same - BF% = 12.7% - not as much of a drop as he had hoped. So, he changed up the diet (no more dairy or fruit), changed up the workout & cardio plan & supps (sort of).

New fatburner = Lipo 6
Fiber = 30g+ per day
Still take: Glutamine & Multi
Add: Antioxidant (Twinlab Radical Fighters) & Cuts II (supposed to mobilize bodyfat)

Diet soda, vinegar, mustard, hot sauce, Splenda & salt free seasonings still ok.

New workout Plan:
Monday - am 45 mins cardio (HR = 150 or less); Lift (Back & Tris)
Tues - am 45 mins cardio; Lift (Shoulders & bis)
Wed - 45 mins cardio; Jump Rope - 3, 3mins intervals; Sprints
Thurs - Jump Rope am b4 eating; Lift (Chest, Abs & Shoulders)
Fri - 45 min cardio am; Lift (Legs)
Sat - 45 min am cardio; Jump Rope

Yikes, that is a lot of cardio!! What will you be substituting for the dairy and fruit in your diet now? Anything or will you just be creating more of a calorie deficit?

Oh ok, I was just curious alot of people take out shakes and replace them with real food closer to the competition. I do know some girls that don't though.

For me I have to take them out, because shakes don't fill me up for nothing, I'm always hungry. lol

Well, I mentioned to him the "theory" of eliminating "wet foods" like oatmeal, shakes, rice, etc and he doesn't seem to think I need to do that.

Now - for the hunger - I've got my bottle of Dietex standing by, so far, tho I'm ok.....

I guess we'll see how my body responds this week & I guess we'll re-evaluate next week. And it'll just be me & him at the comp - so I'll have him all to myself!!

Everyone's nice comments reminded me of a story.....

Tonite at the gym I went back to the aerobics room to walk around in my shoes.....2 people were doing Yoga, so I asked if they minded if I could walk around. The woman said "No! Please do - I was just admiring your physique!" She then asked how long I've been working out, was I a bodybuilder & how old I was.

Just when you're feeling down....... ;)

Were you bloated before the hot sauce?

Hot sauce has a crazy aount of sodium, and can cause you to bloat up.

I'm sure there's lots of debate around this & lots is purely personal preference, but my only comment is that if it isn't "hurting", it is probably not "helping" either. You'll definitely need to toss it when you get down to the last week or two cuz it will f* up your water.

I'm with Sassy. I probably dropped some things I really didn't have to, but if they weren't helping me, I didn't want to chance it. Anything processed or artificial is probably not helping anything.

Doesn't that suck? You try to listen to your body and take a break because you KNOW you need it, then you feel all guilty. I did that once a couple of weeks before my last competition, and I ended up making up the cardio I missed over the next couple of days! :verygood:
 
And that's why BB competition is considered one of the hardest "sports" to pursue - because you are literally training 24/7.

That's why we are called "elite athletes".

OK - met with Fred today -- I'm at 12% bodyfat. He's happy cuz I've had a 4 point reduction in my lower back (one of my areas of concern) and he says the fat in my glute/ham area is "starting to break up." Just under my butt is the area that worries me the most.

I can STILL have Diet Sodas until I see him next Thursday! Yay!! I can have Crystal Light until the week of and I can still have vinegar, mustard, hot sauce, salt free seasonings but NO salsa. However my new "Day 3" meal plan is looooowww on cals - :worried:

My cardio has been increased to 55 mins 6 days a week :rolleyes: Ugh!! Sprinting & Jump roping & lifting still the same.....

Well, I don't undertstand the salsa cuz I make my own homemade & it's just vegetables. I think I'll eliminate the hot sauce anyway.....

Well not to burst your last week of soda bubble, :) but don't load it -- still a shitty source of stuff in a competition diet. Generally you should consume 2x as much water as the soda you drink to help get it out of your system.

We've had that discussion a thousand times on here but if you've already had all your salt-based seasonings pulled, consider that diet coke has sodium.

Other stuff I've heard but would have to go dig up the refs.. the bad part is the phosphorus--- inhibits magnesium (which can in turn contribute to night cramps, etc.), and inhibits proper protein metabolism.

Especially if you are racing the clock to lean out, the additional stuff is just that much more shit your body has to process out. The salt won't' help. And as you get to the point where ALL your water needs to be accounted for, soda is just additional water you need to pull out.

These are the types of things that, when it gets down to the wire, how serious are you about competition? People are willing to do 2 hrs of cardio per day but won't give up a couple cans of diet coke per day? It isn't helping you so why include it?

We've had that discussion a thousand times on here but if you've already had all your salt-based seasonings pulled, consider that diet coke has sodium.

Other stuff I've heard but would have to go dig up the refs.. the bad part is the phosphorus--- inhibits magnesium (which can in turn contribute to night cramps, etc.), and inhibits proper protein metabolism.

Especially if you are racing the clock to lean out, the additional stuff is just that much more shit your body has to process out. The salt won't' help. And as you get to the point where ALL your water needs to be accounted for, soda is just additional water you need to pull out.

These are the types of things that, when it gets down to the wire, how serious are you about competition? People are willing to do 2 hrs of cardio per day but won't give up a couple cans of diet coke per day? It isn't helping you so why include it?

Sassy, is it normal to start cutting sodium weeks out from a competition? I thought you wanted to cut it a day or so before, so that your body is still getting rid of it even though you aren't taking any more in? Maybe I'm way off on this, because this is where I get lost anyway.

There are a hundred different ways to schedule the changes you make in your diet for prep. What you are talking about is very specifically about water manipulation the last week of your show prep. Some people explicitly load sodium then cut as well as sometimes doing a potassium load / deplete in conjunction w/ water deplete.

What I am talking about is cutting out everything that contributes to water retention and just generally impacts the efficient metabolization of fuel. Its like I'm saying w/ the soda --- does it kill you to include it? No probably not. Does it help you ? No probably not. Does it hinder you? PRobably in some way and given the crazy work, effort, dedication and sacrifice you do for competition prep, why would you leave room for inefficiency just because you want a soda? Especially if you are new to competition and you've never really experimented with how your body responds to different components of the diet and training and further, you need to get your body from "typical" (i.e. never competed, new to lifting) to competition state. This isn't just about getting a certain way on that particular day, but its also about how you progress and modify your body as you continue into the future. Your longer term goals, prep for the next show, etc.

You can decide how strict you want your diet to be or what you think is or is not important in its impact on your body in contest prep, but if you don't know specifically how your body responds, you are leaving yourself open to screw up somewhere and not come in the best that you can on show day. That is the type of call competitors in training make all day, every day, every minute of those grueling months of competition prep. At what point do you want to take a breather for your sanity or just because you are tired of the restrictions. But what is the impact? The whole point of competition prep is to progressively get your body finetuned to run as efficiently as it can to get you to your optimal state for on stage. I.e. do you want to be your best or just what you think is "good enough"? Cuz the next person may have gone for "best", which puts your "good enough" to the bottom of the pile.

That's why they call it competition :)

How's the lipo-6 working for you? It was slow for me, but then I started remembering to take it, and I love it. I'm about finished with my month supply and then I'm going back to San Tight.

Just wanted to let you know if it doesn't appear to be working right away give it a few weeks, and you'll see a difference.
