being a novice, training 21st day today, wats the diff of the hands between ur legs, and ur legs between the hands? cuz i dead with my hands grabbing the bar and my legs in between my hands..

Mmmm I might try this technique/form

Dling 3x my weight would be like 740-750.. eeek.. that would hella sick if I could pull that off though, haha.

but I go to a pussy gym and they only have plastique kg weights by there tiny miniature DL section.

thanks bro!

yeah, try it out, but you have to stick with it for a while to bring up your hip strength. The transition will not be easy and if your form is not spot on with sumo you will fail, period. Once you get it down though you will get stronger all around and its much more efficient to pull like this.

i'd like to point out here that not everyone is suited for pulling sumo style. maybe someone will chip in - i'm not sure of the exact reason for this but it probably has at least something to do with the length of the arms in comparison to the rest of the body. longer arms if i'm not mistaken are a requirement. i've seen someone (i think it was scotman) mention that flexibility has something to do with it though i'm not entirely sure.

PS: i can pull about the same sumo as well as regular.

Do they have a raised sole or flat sole?

Do you use them for deadlifting and squatting?

I am trying to get some good shoes to deadlift and squat in as my cross trainers have too much sponge in the sole.

Are they like these?

flat sole, they are like going barefoot almost, just a little cushion and traction added. for squatting i would recommend some chuck taylors, very cheap and they work just as good as the $150 pling shoes from inzer, safe, etc.

you have to be somewhat flexible to get your ass low enough and into position to pull sumo. if your not youll be doing a widestance conventional deadlift and wont be moving anything heavy lol

you def. have to be built for sumo deadlifting, but stick with it for 3-4months before you come to a conclusion. Its much different and takes alot of practice, and a long time to bring the different muscles involved up to speed.

Chuck Taylors for squatting and deadlifting? Do you suggest the high top for stability or does it not really matter?

I was looking at weight lifting shoes but they have a raised heal.
