What base are you on? I remember you said you were going to Okinawa. As a civilian you'll have opportunity to do a lot of stuff I couldn't when I was there, so I won't be a good help on a lot of extracurricular activities, though I highly recommend the SCUBA diving with Tsunami Gear or some shit like that. There is a little shop on every base. Foster's is across from the PX, right next to Navy Fed. Hansen's (even though you won't be on Hansen since it has no housing) is across from the 7 Day Package store.

When you get a chance go check out the Aquarium at the Northern end of the island. Fucking huge.

There is also some kind of botanical garden place. Can't remember the name, but it's cool for a date with your wife.

Also, could you PLEASE send me some Habusake. I'll send you the money, shipping, anything. Bottles of it are sold throughout the island. If you go Gate 2 street there is a bar called Good Times. $5 bucks a shot, but it fucks you up good and quick. And then there is the banana show. Disgusting, but a must see.

There was a demonstration outside the gate today. The Okinawans don't want to Marines to come back here when they get back from Iraq. These types of things are pretty common I think.

Rex, thanks for all the 411. We are on Butler right now. That's temporary. We'll probably end up on Kinzer or out in town. I'm pusing for a place on the beach. I plan to hit up Tsunami Gear and get certified at SCUBA diving.

The demonstrations are normal. They don't realize that their economy would literally fall through without us there. Also it's mostly go home GI....but take me with you kind of sentiment towards us. Most of the people there realize that we bring the money, and are generally nice to Americans.

Kinser is nice. Living out in town is an experience, but there are condo style housing quarters on Kinser. Pretty neat.

We went into a room in one of the towers last night. They are pretty nice. Kinser is right on the water, so that would be a cool place to live. It hasn't been below 60 degress since we've been here. It has been close to 80 a couple of times. It's gonna start raining alot soon.
