High/Lo GI carbs @ night

its said not to eat carbs late in the day or at night, but i like to have some as my second to last meal, sometime around 8 oclock, maybe some of the Basmati rice or a sweet potato. The lower the GI of the carb, the better it is for nite maybe ? Because i've just lifted a few hours earlier, and need to make sure im getting enough carbs for recovery, so are some better or worse than others for nite consumption ?

The lower the GI and higher the fiber. For example, Green beans are 7g CHO per 2/3 cup, but 5 of that is fiber, so it's really only 2 g CHO. So you can fill up, and it doesn't weigh you down.

Wait...that sounds like a commercial. ;)

...also take into consideration the time of day you train.
