Having children while on Avodart?

izzman, I have been on avodart for almost a year now, after switching from propeica which I was on for almost 2 years. I have not noticed any increase in sides after the switch. Like you, after I started propecia, I thought my libido was down somewhat, but the symptoms were so slight and sporadic, now I'm not sure they were caused by propecia. My libido is good now (though I occasionally pop a blue bullet (V) when I really want to jack up a chick), and I noticed no change in libido after the switch to avodart. I also think my hair is doing somewhat better on duta than fina.
showtime: You mentioned taking avodart with your next cycle. In my experience & knowledge, duta/fina must be taken all the time to do its job in fighting mpb, not just while "on". It was almost 10 months before I saw any effects from propecia. Hope this helps.

I am currently thinking of switching over to avodart (for obvious reasons, one to try and grow some hair back miraculously if I even can! F*CKING MPB, Lol.) I have been on finasteride for about 1.5 years and currently want to switch over, however I am afraid of due to the potent DHT suppression (90% - 93% compared to 60% from finasteride) that in the future when I decide to have children they will suffer from disabilities of some sort. My questions:
1) Would anyone happen to have any concrete information on the issue?
2) How about personal experiences, how many of you are currently on avodart and have had/will have children?
3) Lastly, those of you on avodart, how were the first few months in terms of how your body reacted and how you felt?

Input would be greatly appreciated, Karma is a given! :)

I'm combating hair loss since 1997, that's like 7 or 8 years straight! I must say that I've done so with great success, despite the fact being very MPB prone and despite the fact being on juice at dosages that many here doubfuly will even reach. Hair preservation and growth is not popping a capsule, but rather using what ever is available for me and whatever the cost may be. (And it's much more expensive than juicing for most part) There are several posts I made about my regimn that you can search for.

Regarding the Avodart (Dutasteride).
There is NO medical reason to think that by using Avodart, your wife may have a child with any disabilities. The fear comes from the fact that DHT is responsible for the formation of the sex organ, and by inhibiting DHT, your child may have some abnormalities. That's the reason behind the very bold remark both Propecia and Avodart have, to avoid children and women to even touch the tablets capsules (for the fear of transdermally passing). But that warning is for the WOMAN not the man. You will not inhibit the small amount of DHT your wife has by taking Avodart yourself. Or at least that's as far as I know the medical concencous. I believe that's the same as saying that you will not make your wife more muscular by injecting 3g of testosterone yourself (you will not pass bioavailable testosterone to your wife via ejaculation). As I always like to say, if you're very concerned ask a doctor (though many know shit).

I think it's well over 2 years since I started taking Avodart and there is NO noticable side-effect except for strongly stopping hairloss! Studies on both Propecia and Avodart showed a 25% decrease in ejaculation volume which was temporar only and resumed normal after weeks while still using the drug. So it's not of any importance. The only libido supression I can see is from psychologically thinking about it. Moreso, if you're on a cycle, you're already making much more DHT than a normal guy, so trust me, there's still plenty of DHT left that will be non-inhibited and circulated. So at the end of the day, you will not get that low.

One more issue when evaluating Avodart and it's your hair we're talking about, please do not make a judgement till you experience with pharmaceutical quality legitimate one. If you take UG lab or poorly indian unlicensed medication, you may not getting what you paid for. It may have ruined during the process, may have been subject to excessive heat or lab mistakes.

It is simple, if you're juicing, taking Viagra, dieting drugs, pain killers or any drug that is 'felt instantly' that's fine taking a cheap alternative, because you will know immediately if that's the real deal or some lously non potent shit. But when taking stuff like Avodart, psycho medication and other stuff that do not influence immediately and only long-term usage has any effect, you have to take the real genuine more costly alternative. Cause as I said, otherwise, you may never know... I'm saying so, cause I've seen medication such as avodart and wellbutrin that are indian generics and that I would never touch them, though I will allow myself stuff like Cialis which is felt immediately if working or not.

Avodart is not going to cause any problems with your possible children. It won't cause any significant increase in faulty sperm, nor does it have any possible way of changing your actual genetic structure. Your semen volume may decrease slightly, but that has nothing to do with the quality of sperm. Think about it this way. Avodart does the exact same thing propecia does... it blocks conversion of hormones into DHT. The only difference is, it blocks 90+% instead of about 60%. So it works better, that's all. If propecia/proscar won't have any effect on possible children( and it won't), neither will avodart. You're approved to start trying to regrow your hair bro, good luck.

which brand of avodart are you using junk???

There is only 1 brand of Avodart and it's made by GSK (GlaxoSmithKline). As far as I know, there isn't any licensed generic version of Avodart. By 'licensed', I mean one that is not underground and one that is legally available in the U.S. or Europe (India doesn't count).

Dutasteride is a powerful drug and still with much mystery.

Conflicting information about its half-life has been released with popular estimates including 10 days and a whole month.

The drug maker warns against blood donations prior to six months of cessation. I am no scientist but understand that Dutateride needs time much longer than 6 months to leave your system.

Fathers claiming to have fathered healthy boys speak too soon as the drug's effects may not emerge until puberty.

To be safe stop using it for YEARS! (yes, years
