Guys, help me out, are tricep kickbacks definately a waste?

Ronnie's form looked horrible in "the Unbelieveable!" when doing kickbacks. I was a bit surprised he wasted his time with them.

I agree, he used so much momentum to help up, and his ROM was pretty bad.

Why would you listen go a guy who's done dozens of steroid cycles and does 12-15 reps? :)

Staples of tri for myself:

Overhead ext
Close-grip bench
Skulls
Pushdowns
Dips

I agree 100% :)

I've found they are a great burnout exercise... but totally ineffective for building any sort of mass. If you want something at the end of your workout to really get a great burn and pump in your triceps (well, ADD to your pump) try a limited range kickback.

I basically stay in the fully extended position and lower the db about 6-8" only... and then kick back up and squeeze... doing this at a weight you can handle for around 20reps or so, usually will give you a massive burn in your triceps.

Of course, it can put some strain on your shoulder, but at the lower weight... that strain should be reduced.

I use this exercise with many of my female clients as it gives them a really good burn and helps with definition more than mass building... which is what alot of them are seeking.

Well MJ I applaud you for atleast getting some opinions from over here. I swear all lifting threads on ls1 should be autolocked. Anways, I don't do kickbacks I MUCH rather prefer some CG bench, skullcrushers, tate presses, JM press (need to start doing those again) etc.

How can an exercise add more definition? Defintion comes from low bodyfat, I believed. I mean I respect you, but really, I don'tagree with an exercise adding defenition.

Yup, I love this forum. It made me a better person, lol. ;)

isnt a kickback a tricep pressdown with the tension only at the very locked out portion? seems like you get a few degrees of stress. for my money, if im doing an extension type movement, i'll stick to skullcrushers, overhead ext or pressdowns. i prefer close grip work more though.

Whats up MJS?

Finally joined over here.

One question: Why does this forum have that link for www.legalsteroids.com? SDI-LABS.com? That company is the biggest scam going. That stuff is total crapola. There office is 20 minutes from my house. I hope people here don't buy that crap.

Hahah Quicken is here! Glad to see you joined the site man (we had numerous discussions/"arguments" over at ls1 I have a very similiar name there--- 2001WS6M6). And oh yeah there are links for horrible things all over this site just kinda goes with the territory around here.
