Gun rights people, do you really need 30-75 round ammo clips?

thats a little extreme, do you think thats what our forefathers were implying when they wrote the constitution.

the reason it goes down is because criminals are afraid of getting shot, plain and simple.

That's the theory. I'd like a little more the presumption.

There are several reason why crime could go down. Gun ownership could be one of the reasons, but I my guess is that it would be the main reason as the criminal could not assume that everyone who was previously banned from owning guns would run out and get one at the first chance once the ban was lifted.

That why I said to take a state with a high percentage of violent crime, lift a gun restrictions, but keep investment and demographics the same and see how it does.

To say that one (lower gun restrictions) equals the other (lower violent crime) is just an assumption.

It's sort of like how this rock I'm holding keeps away bears from Metro Toronto. Take a look at the people at the Yosemite Park. They don't have THIS rock, so they have bear attacks. It's obvious. The bears are afraid of THIS rock.

NO, the constitution says nothing about FIREarms or GUNS. It says ARMS. It does not specify the type of arms. If you're arguing that the Constitution gives you the right to any type of gun, then you are also arguing that it gives you the right to ANY type of weapon.

yes the Constitution says that we as citizens we have the right to bear "arms". What are "arms?" "arms" are whatever we need to protect ourselves from an oppressive government. never did the authors imagine that technology would have evolved to the level of destruction capable today. in their time rifles where enough to over throw British rule... now it would probably take nukes.

To argue about whether or not the 2nd amendment covers firearms is rediculous... of course it does.
