just stopping in to check your 'jacked inner pecs' workouts - going to work chest tonight. hoping to max out at 135 Close-Grip Bench Press, your warm-up set. woot! :)

question- why would one suggest I do dips on shoulder day instead of chest day?

Yeah, Tweakle, my triceps are sore today.

WW, I pmed you my thoughts on it, but basically, dips don't isolate anything. I consider them a total upper body movement, much like a press. If you do bodypart splits, it's reasonable to consider them either a chest, shoulder, or triceps exercise, as they will effectively train all of those areas. Also, 135 is a very impressive close-grip, most women fear the 45lb plates, plus, if I were a betting man, I'd wager it is more than half the guys on the anabolic board could do.

Felt good today, wanted to hit something big on the close-grip, then I got concerned over the volume, which is why I did so many backoff sets. OHP felt real strong. Left the gym and had Sirloin steaks, corn on the cob, rice, salad, milk, and a scoop of ice cream.
Just 1 scoop of ice cream? :dodgy:

Did they use a shovel or a backhoe for the scoop? :lmao:

5-Gal bucket & a spoon? :chomp:

or were you already over you "Milk products" quota for the day? ;)

:FRlol: :FRlol:

BiggT you know I'm just messin with ya. :rainbow:

There is no milk products quota, lol, the more the merrier.

Actually, today is my off-day from training, my appetite is raging out of control, I just stopped eating for the night about an hour ago though, enough is enough sometimes, lol.

Your PM makes sense. Since I do seperate out body parts on different days- I am (have been) doing dips on chest/tri or chest day and on shoulder/tricep day. Getting pretty good at them - no longer doing them on that assisted machine. PR @ 10 first set, 10 second set, 8.5 third set. wooooha...

The guys I work out with (trainer included) are firm believers that girls should do the same workouts as the guys. If you had to pick one over the other- would you do a regular bench press, or use dumb bells? I've seen more girls using weights than the bar...

WW, with the barbell, you can handle more weight than with dumbells, and I am a firm believer that load is king when it comes to development, so I think the barbell is better if I HAD to pick only one. Plus, with a barbell, you can make small 5lb jumps each week, and with d-bells, you're kind of stuck going up 10lbs or not at all, and in most cases that's a big weekly jump.

However, dumbells do have a place at times in training. Just saying if I had to pick one, I'd go with a barbell.

Well, I am wonder woman, you know...

Makes sense. Thanks for your input. Side note- I workout at this really great gym where the dumb bells go up in 2.5 pound increments from 5 lbs to 50 lbs. It's pretty cool actually. :)
