people in large cities are fiscally retarded. . .generally speaking.

i lived in pittsburgh (not a large city but a city nonetheless). . .we paid $130,000 for our first house, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two car garage, vinyl siding. . .nothing special. . .sold it 3 years later for close to $200,000. . .why? cause somebody said that's how much it was worth. . .complete bs imho.

10 years later we moved to a smaller town in north central pa. . .we bought a 4 bedroom, two bathroom, brick, two-story, two car garage, on a lot twice the size of the one in pittsburgh for $90,000.

moral of the story? city peoples is stoopid.

They are stupid until they sell their appreciated homes then move to where cost of living is dirt cheap.

That's what is happening around where I live. We have numerous large homes being built which cost around 300-400K, which is cheap for those who sold their homes in the big cities for double if not more that much.

It's ruining this once nice place to live. I despise the increasing traffic, not to mention how snobby northerners are here.

Yeah, the funniest part of all this is for healthcare workers like me, it seems most everyone is morbidly obese or getting there, snack between snacks, and live pathetic, sedentary lifestyles... so the decent money they're making will all go back into healthcare for them. Joy!

That's what is happening around where I live. We have numerous large homes being built which cost around 300-400K, which is cheap for those who sold their homes in the big cities for double if not more that much.

It's ruining this once nice place to live. I despise the increasing traffic, not to mention how snobby northerners are here.

unfortunately. . .those days have ended in many places. . .the real estate markets in many metropolitan areas have dipped significantly in the last two years with no signs of relief on the horizon. . .with adjustable rate mortgages and people living beyond their means, foreclosures in 2007 are at record highs. . .i recently did some valuation work for a family limited partnership that was organized for estate tax planning purposes. . .the flp currently owns several desireable residential properties in desireable suburban neighborhoods outside of pittsburgh. . .the replacement cost for two of the homes is in excess of $500k. . .but their fair market value is only $300k. . .and the homes were only built a couple of years ago for $400k+. . .

I am still trying to figure out why MOST MEN care so much about being "jacked" when MOST WOMEN don't.

I mean, who are they trying to impress?

If a guy can be jacked and be witty, honorable, kind, motivated, well-traveled, well-mannered, etc etc etc - GREAT. But if a guy is in "average shape" and all of the rest of the above that is GREAT too! Even if the guy is in notsogreatshape, but is still active and willing to learn how to make healthy changes then GREAT too....

What I am saying is - doesn't seem to make a lot of sense for a man to put MOST of his energy into being jacked, when that doesn't put him in a better position to attract a quality member of the opposite sex.

because I love my muscles

Yep, the place I'm living now is a condo in a neighborhood in Denver, full of young professionals. The person I lease this from wants me to buy it, but he has a funky mortgage on it and cant sell now for what he has in it. There's a 20k difference in what he has in it and the going rate for places in this area like it.

u r correct! that salary range does me well here in what's-left-of-new-orleans...but i don't have a wife or ankle biters dragging me down; not into high rise condos or overly expensive status symbol cars/trucks...

I would say most of the huge guys I know don't have much going on.
They are trying to overcompensate for their shortcomings.
Of course there are guys who are smart and work out too.

1. Some guys have a deeper life than worrying about attracting women 24/7

2. A lot of girls DO love the jacked look. You might not be one of them, but you can't claim to speak for half the population. There's A LOT of shallow bitches out there
