As with many substances, you have to keep yourself in check and if you'd rather not even mess around with it in the first place then more power to you- there's certainly nothing wrong with that. But come on folks- the stuff is not this surefire descent into addiction. Doing a line or two or ten at a party does not mean you're going to be stealing VCRs a few months down the line. Sitting around with a couple of friends and a couple of grams isn't going to land you in rehab. Tooting a few lines with your girlfriend before you fuck each other's brains out isn't going to mean the end of the world either.

Sounds exactly like statements a friend of mine used to make.
Last I heard, he lost his house to the IRS cause he couldn't stop snorting his tax money up his nose.
You're right, it doesn't happen all at once, it was a slow gradual descent into hell,
so gradual he couldn't even see it happen,
but to his friends it was obvious, and there was nothing we could do about it,
cause he was in complete denial.

I didn't really like it even though I'm a sucker for uppers. I have a very addictive personality but never felt any of want or need for it after doing it. Hell we got a free 8ball 3 days in a row b/c a guy owed us money then we never touched it again. You can only get so high with the shit then it becomes boring. It's true that the feeling is never like the first time. I think it part b/c of the endorphins kicking in once you realize you've just done cocaine. But the attempt to find that feeling again was never there like some experience. All in all, it's not that great of a drug.

Many of my friends from adolescence went down the coke road. I only have one of them left. Him and I chose not to and were the last men standing. I am 25.
I have seen some pathectic sites and I can't get used to it. It is definitely the person using that matters but the drug is dominant over most people.

Just because some people can't handle their shit doesn't mean everyone is weak.

Personally I posted one of my first messages on here before I tried coke.. asking for feedback. I got mixed reactions. I had actually studied many drugs in school and knew most of the pharmacological effects, but I wanted to hear first hand from people that had tried it.

So I tried it, it was fun, but it has its downside as well.... couldn't sleep well that night.. felt a little down.

Would I do it again? Probably not... but who knows, it isn't something I think of as evil or dangerous.

Would I tell someone to try it? I'd tell them what my experience with it was, I'd tell them what other people's experiences with it was, and let them decide. If it was someone who I knew had a problem controlling themself with other substances I'd advise against it. If it was someone who had a pretty good grip on things, I'd say sure why not, but you may not like it.

Well, I can't speak for others but I know I do enough bumps of Charlie at parties to last me a whole month. But I only hit on occasion on the weekends with my g/f and if the vibe and people are right. Nothing more nothing less. During the week I work my reg. office job and I don't feel the urge to do any Charlie...I can go without it. Even if I'm at a party/club I'm not compelled to do it. That's just me though.

Personally I like the odds of the person who thinks it is bad and never tries it than the "enlightened one" who decides to try it.

I knew a girl who eventually became a heroin addict after starting with the light shit. Felt like I was talking to a shell.

At the least, it does tear up your nose which is a filter for particulate matter and helps keep your lungs clean.

That said...a lot of people can handle it. A lot can not. I did it once on my way to bed and fell asleep and never felt a damned thing. I wouldn't pay a $1 for a snort.
